not me,

iv driven the 370z and i think its a nice sports car. But even at the same price range for a used model its still not the car for me.

BRZ is still on my top buyers list

I do not know where it should have been posted but it is a valid question. So many on here are whining about the FR-S/BRZ ONLY having 200HP. They are willing to slap on the extra weight and dollars to get that power.

The 370Z already has the power, handling, sophistication and better comfort features than either of these models. It will handily outrun or out drift them too.

I have owned a 350Z and it was a good if not great car.

The reason I own what I own now and want the FR-S/BRZ is the light weight , good mileage and the crisp handling. I think the car will be a GREAT balance of power, handling performance without touching the engine and without the need for more power. Better tires and coil-overs to lower it a bit more will be all it needs.

That is why I will chose one of them over the 370Z.

There is when you repost and troll the wrong section because clearly you failed to comprehend the rules here. I'd suggest you continue your discussion in your original topic in the "Vs." section.

Did you find that advice useful?

Thanks for that detailed explanation, I totally understand that the 370z and FRS are for different folks. The 370z is slightly on the heavy side, but the power makes up for it.

You may be right, but you're still being a jerk about it.

And in reply to the OP, no the 370 would have to be significantly cheaper than the 86 to change my mind.
Not that I have anything against the 370, and in my opinion it is the closest competition to the 86, but I've made up my mind on a brand new car.

I understand why you would prefer a new car. It's all about what YOU want, I just wish their was more stock HP. Since i'll be going to college, I want have the time to go to work especially as an engineering major. And internships only last a summer.

I've driven all three models of the 370z, it's a good car, great balance from the factory, but it lacks practicality and requires a great deal of expense to be competitive on a track or in AutoX for my tastes. I almost bought the Sport Package, but then started a long list of mods I needed to make it run like I wanted and got turned off.

No, the FR-S is exactly what I want: lightweight, handles right out of the factory as if the nameplate said Porsche... but with the ability to haul racing tires to the track. It's a great starting point that will allow to put more toward tires that trying to make everything else work together.

For what it's worth, I'm a G37S coupe driver who's seriously considering the BRZ. Cars like the FM Z platform are great...but like anything else, push it and you want more. In my case, on a road course...I'm very interested in better handling. So, lower polar moment of inertia, lower center of gravity, etc, all sound very attractive. That said...the kick in the seat of a 370Z 0-60 (or something in that class or faster) is intoxicating and hard to give up.

OP I realise your still a young guy, but seriously you need to think before you post. You posted this in 2 different sub forums now and there is already a huge vs thread on this topic that you have posted in/viewed. I think price for some of us isn't the biggest issue ie: (for me as long as its under 25k I will be golden) rather the weight of the car and the driving/handling aspects of the car mean more. Sure the 370z is nice if your looking for a fancy gt type car, but its a heavy pig of a car(3250#). The one you linked with 70k miles on it for 20k most likely will start to have maintenance issues coming up. Plus you have no idea how hard the car was beat on in those 70,000 miles. Would you like to take a guess on what that will run you in tune up parts alone, not including labor costs. Also the cost for after market performance upgrade parts are quite a bit more then those of a 20-23k car. Plus how about your insurance rates for that 370z car? I would think they would be quite a bit more since your under 25 and that car was 30-40k new. So anyways there are plenty of great reason a new FRS/BRZ at 20-25k is much better then a used 370z with 70k miles on it. These are just a few.

One of the few reples you got that did not roast you and your response was to tell them "its all about what YOU want ???" Followed some babbling sentence that makes no sense.

Follow your own advice kiddo...
