Installed mine today, and like others the frame under the hinge was slightly bowed. I didn't notice at first, and thought one of the screw heads was hitting, holding it up. I ended up taking the pad off and fitting it that way, when I remembered the issue some were having. When I put a straight edge up to it, you could see a slight bow. When I pressed/bent it near the hinges, I didn't hear a "pop" or "snap", but instead felt it move as the hinge pin slid into place. Rechecking with the straight edge, and it was perfectly flat.
The biggest flaw I see with this arm rest, is that it looks so factory like, no one will know or believe I installed it. ![]() fyi, that's a piece of toolbox drawer liner in the bottom, it keeps things from sliding around. |

Anyone that's taken their armrest apart to install it, now have a squeak when it opens/closes? The vinyl is now rubbing on the lower plastic trim ring, by the hinge. The only thing i can figure is, when I reassembled it I got the top seated farther down, reducing the clearance. I loosened the screws toward the hinge side tonight, and pulled the cover up a bit, and that helped, until you drive with your arm on it, and push it back down.
May look into some thin washers to space it up a tiny bit. Last edited by Gunman; 07-16-2013 at 07:37 AM. |

My squeaks too but it compliments the crickets quite well!
![]() I read somewhere that a little wd-40 helps, will try this weekend when I detail her (if the rain stops).

For anyone that wants one of these and wants it quickly, Nigel JDM seems to be the way to go right now. I ordered mine Wednesday, it shipped Thursday, and tracking information says it'll be here tomorrow.

Got mine in the mail today. Shipped the next day after I placed my order and arrived a day before the scheduled delivery.
