The Ecutek software provides fairly robust logging capability as well which you getting with the price of the license. I paid a decent price for the DeltaDash software back in the day because it was better than anything else out there. Of course you could buy this and then also buy a copy of BRZEdit personal and get the same thing. To say Ecutek isn't doing anything would be incorrect, imho but I am looking forward to this product. Shiv is definitely a blast from the past, I still had one of his WRX uppipes until a few months ago! |

My problem is I don't have e85 a turbo or desire to flat foot shift or use launch control.
I want to log and flash my car. Features like deleting a cel or tpms would be nice. This to me is not worth nearly a grand. How tuners protect themsleves is easy. A base map is free. Revisions and custom maping is what you charge for. Less for na or just a stg1 and so forth

I'm putting together a site that'll let us share/fork/modify/diff tunes. Also has pretty nice intelligent matching, so you can search by installed modifications and get a ranked result of tunes. It's pretty cool stuff, and I plan to use all the tunes and mod lists to do some cool machine learning experiments. Should be up soon.

Most Subaru forums are against trading open source tunes. I'm sure this one will be the same. |

Will this platform allow editing of the stock transient ignition retard tables?
Would be nice if this platform offered the same DI seal protection from transient detonation between quick high rpm WOT upshifts as EcuTek currently has available. As far as I know it's simply filling in the table above 5400rpms which is empty in the stock tune. |

Very interesting. Are there tools for injector and MAF scaling?

seriously though there's absolutely nothing at all wrong with sharing base configurations and then tweaking to suit as necessary. hell some people would be better off with a base map than some of the etuning that goes on around here. just recently a guy gained a ton of power (and lost a bunch of knock) by going from visconti's etuned (16 or so revisions) map to FA20Club's first-flash basemap (before revisions), then proceeded to gain a ton more with tweaks. i'd happily flash a well documented and reviewed map from a fellow enthusiast. it's no less of a crapshoot than paying for the same. |

And if a few degrees of timing over advance is the root cause, then high octane fuel should easily have prevented this, and yet we have seen the failure on cars running 100 octane fuel. And just cause a knock sensors/processor "thinks" it sees knock, doesn't always mean it is knock. Lots of noisy shit occurs on a shift. More R&D needs to happen before we can say "problem solved". But anyway, I'm sure they will find all the tables they need. To other posters: As for the customs crap that no one really needs.... lol. It's mostly sales gimmicks that come and go, They had auto blip... got rid of it. had AF display, got rid of it, had SD support, coudln't get it right. Flat foot shift? Really? What's wrong with your rev limiter if you shift that slow? This product is exciting, lets hope it delivers, great option to add to the FRS line-up, and any decent BRZ/Subaru tuner will be happy to tune it for you real time on the dyno. Shops charge $100 to $150 an hour, so for the price of a mail order tune, you are WELL on your way to a dyno tune. |
