Toyota 86 N-Spec and Subaru BRZ STI?

Nobody has translated the 86 N-Spec article yet?

Looking at the picture, it clearly is the 86, with TRD 18" 10 spoke rims and the headlights with the LED's. Concerning the bumper, it is identical to the one of the BRZ STI Concept and covers the corners of the headlights, just as the standard BRZ bumper. We can also see the Toyota blinkers in the bumper. What could this mean? Why would we see the same bumper on both the Toyota 86 N-Spec and the Subaru BRZ STI? If to say the truth the 86 and BRZ are exactly the same cars. What we got from Toyota more are only different cosmetic parts and some TRD performance parts, that would be equivalent to the Subaru SPT and STI parts, Subaru has yet to unveil something. The 86 N0 and 86 N1 are two differently speced racecars, the Subaru is a BRZ GT300. The TRD we see now on the pics is in fact nothing else than a 86 with bodykit and some TRD parts, and has nothing to do with for example a Toyota MR2 TRD2000GT. I think we are going to see a true performance model (not racecar) from both Toyota and Subaru. The question is about the engine differences.

"Nobody knows anything."
AGREED! I was told by my Scion dealer the car may not be up here 'till September!

"I'm down for 5 speed, steel wheels, manual windows, and optional AC."
I was hoping this since the begining of this project! (i could use 6th for the hwy. tho)
I made sure my '03 Civic didn't have ABS and unfortunetely the air was standard kit.

"...planning to not spend a dollar more than base price of this car unless it affects performance?"
NOPE
(save for the $500 boot spoiler... ooo! and that gt5 kit is killin it!!! I is on the fence yo!)

I really like the Nur package, but it actually looks TOO functional for everyday use (probably adds lots of drag on the highway). The TRD ducktail is where it's at.

don't think anyone's pointed this out yet but, it looks like there is a better strut tower brace on the nur spec than the trd. the trd is a small skinny black tower brace, and the nur is a wide white tri-point composed of (what looks like) a single bar. The nur spec bar does not have the part of the bar that goes from tower to tower; only the tower to firewall. Even though its missing that part, it may still be more rigid because of (possible) one-piece composition and increased rigidity (bigger bar). The TRD kit looks like it utilizes the two stock small bars from firewall to tower as seen here:

we can see that aero is present for the nur kit, and it looks like at least one suspension bit. i'm anxious to see if there are any more besides the member brace kit from TRD, but i'll probably look to subaru for more performance-oriented OEM as time goes on.

also notice the the nur kit pictures (the red one, the blue one, and now this one) have not had the trd brembo kit attached.

all that plus a tune, since we know aftermarket will be able to support it early, plus trd brembo kit, coilovers (pref bc but i'll take greddy's) or H&R springs (since they likely have been testing it) and some more power and i'll be happy.

I hashed this out in another thread, but the white bar is actually part of the welded racing cage on the Gazoo Racing model, shown here:

or in more detail

However, in the OP pictures, at the bottom, you can see the black unit has a third brace that fully triangulates the shock towers. I'm guessing this is going to be an aftermarket part.

All cars will have the two tower-wall struts, just like all BMW's have them. The TRD/STI part is an optional tower-tower strut. The race car has it all in one as a cage.

ohh did not know that. was just going off the few threads and pics i've seen so far

so the nur spec has the gazoo racing welded cage and proper aero accessories, but not the brembo kit. that is weird IMO, but maybe in testing they determined that calipers that big are not actually necessary

I think they are just calling it Nur spec because that Gazoo model was the one that was filmed running around on the Nurburgring (as seen in the other videos on this website). It's a fully stripped model prepped for racing, and not something like a package, etc. that will be offered. Maybe bits and part of it, but not the car itself.

The "Nur Spec" car is the Gazoo car. Same exact car, same one that Toyoda was seen driving. I think it's their race prepped test mule.
