Ok so I have again been doing a ton of online research. I want to get some personal opinions on Unichip vs EcuTek. If you have used both I would really like to hear from you.

A background on my car and I. My car has an Airaid intake a Nameless Axel back exhaust and a perrin pulley. I personally havent done any tuning in my life so this is new.

I got the unichip and I'm very happy with it. I didn't have to pay labor for any shop, and it's fun to tweak the maps and try to get the best power out of it. The gains are pretty even across the RPM band, and I can really feel the extra punch coming out of corners getting back in the throttle. I would recommend t as long as you are able to install yourself.

Also the customer service and the response time from Jack was outstanding, as he was able to answer a bunch of questions I had before purchasing.

What does install include? Ive done my own work thus far. How does the tunes work? Do i email them and tell them that I have this exhaust and that intake and they build around that?

edit: found it, seems easy enough. Maybe just a couple hours. My next question would be installing the Maps. What do you do?

Unichip looks pretty cool. Watched a video featuring their technology and r&d and tuning their 1500hp gallardo. Very impressive festures and capability.

For frs...what parameters can you tune? Extra features?

Also...dont forget brzedit. For 500 $ plus a openport2, you can tune your own car with access to all the factory tune parameters.

Only reason it was between those two is because those are the ones I am considering.

I just installed my Unichip today and it was a breeze. Car just feels completely different now (in a good way!).

If you get in on one of the special buys it's a no brainer good deal.

I've run both. If you're just sticking to bolt-ons, unichip is a 95% solution for more than half the price.

Can you completely remove the MAF and convert the engine to speed-density… yep. Direct OEM injector control… yep. Integrate additional injectors… yep. Direct cam control… yep (has nothing to do with the MAF). Integrate a FI kit… yep. Modify tip in fueling… yep. Launch control… yep. Flat foot shifting… yep. Create a fully automatic 3D map directly controlling a nitrous solenoid while optimizing timing/fueling and automatically changing to non-nitrous values when the gas runs low… yep. Immobilize the car with a switch flip… yep. Integrate external sensors… MAP sensor… yep, flex fuel sensor… yep, closed loop waste gate solenoid, yep… additional injectors, yep… automatic 3D water spray with auto shut off and map switching… yep, etc…

Our basic kit is just that… a basic kit. It utilizes about 10% of the Unichip’s capability because that’s what 90% of the market wants… have fun with no foot print… not a footprint that’s just hard to find. How hard do you think the dealer will look at a car that cruises in with an engine problem?
