Coating is personal preference. It keeps temperatures down under the hood, and the heat inside the header to the rest of the exhaust where it cools before reaching the tips.
Is it needed? Probably not for most. I chose it because when its 104 degrees outside, I'll take any lower temperatures I can get. I doubt this header will rust/flake years down the road from the heat. Ceramic coating cheap headers can actually prevent them from rusting and flaking. Temperatures are at their highest from the header. The stock header has that heat shield so you have to remember that shield goes away with this UEL so temperatures under the hood will increase a bit. |

Coating helps keep under hood temps down and promotes velocity of the exhaust gases. If you guys want to add coating shoot me a PM and I can give you the options

The flanges look MUCH beefier than on your prototypes! I like!

Mine is being coated as well. It makes a HUGE difference in radiant temps and that's a big deal when your already living in hell's backyard. I almost went uncoated because I love the way cooked SS looks but I prefer the temp control over the little bit of aesthetics you would be able to barely see. Can't wait to get the call to come pick up one of these bad boys

Two seasons in Texas and Arizona, summer and spring. Aesthetics wise, chrome look really awesome. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the types of coating honestly. They all look awesome. I've just always been a fan of coating hot exhaust components for longevity and keeping the heat where it needs to be... inside the tubes.
