[QUOTE=nixeighty6;105956]my bet is on factory..
why would greddy, which only had one week.. do seats, head rests, steering wheel, dash insert, shift boot, brake boot? .. that steering wheel really looks factory to me.. they are a performance company, why even touch the interior?

:57 to 1:07 in this vid

Yeah that does look like a factory option.

Good call..

wow, f me, where do i send that bet?

he does say interior.. but you think that the stitch is factory and they did the blue alcantara and the head rests.. that still wouldn't make me right tho.. very cool

thanks.. fixed it.

I said it looked factory. GREDDY did a good job in less than a week then if they did all the interior work along with the suspension work.

So how good is GREDDY's stuff in the real world?

Interior work takes about day or two. Even with knowing specific measurements, one week is not enough time to properly prototype brakes, so those are most likely off the shelf direct-fit Impreza kits they sale, and the suspension was probably off the shelf, which for a show car, spring rates and suspension travel are not that important.

It's not really that impressive, I have the feeling many parts from Impreza will carry over as they have for GReddy.

"...prototype a hub conversion..."???

When I saw this car in person they were using wheel spacers. It now makes sense why; to convert 4x100 to 4x114.3.

I don't think they custom made hubs at all but rather sourced spacer adapters.

So they just did a 180 from a 5X100 car to a 4X100 to 4X114.3 conversion...

the pic you see in my avatar is one i took w/ my phone while at the reveal. had i known about this i definitely would have asked/looked out for it. the good thing to do would be to pose this question to GReddy on their fb page. i'm sure you'll get an answer...

You mean 5x100 and 5x114.3 In the wheel pics, there are 5 lugs not 4.

The Greddy demo car looks great. I'm surprised 19" wheels actually look good on this car. I thought they would look too big.

Rotor diameter at least will increase with any of the brake upgrades being discussed. I think one potential (and cheap) upgrade may be Legacy GT fronts (12.4" rotors) and an adapter to move the calipers out, or LGT caliper brackets using the BRZ calipers, or LGT calipers, I believe the piston sizes are the same on those so they should be L/R swappable sliders that way. Any upgrade may be pointless for anything besides looks though on any remotely stock power level track car.. and for every street car.

someone said the STI used internal transfer tubes so unless they have a provision for the bleeder on either end (some calipers do, some don't as I'm sure you know) then the STI "upgrade" may not be all that ideal.

Good and bad.. good in that it makes development easier, bad because some less-than-stellar companies will just slap a "BRZ" or "FRS" sticker over the "WRX" sticker and sell them as a "tuned system".
We used to have a set of STI brembos just sitting here forever....finally got rid of them a while ago. Darn. Need to find time (and maybe a BRZ) to do some investigating.

Agreed on the LGT rotors being a good possible easy brake upgrade. They don't look that cool but will be a good change for the track.

WRX 4 pot calipers do not have differential bores apparently so they'll be an easy fit, but the rotors aren't any bigger.

The thing about the poorly developed stuff is that it's going to happen and a lot of companies are going to take short cuts. It's already rampant with other cars out there and many people just don't care. What actually bothers me is when they are fooled into thinking they are improving the performance of the vehicle by marketing that has no basis in reality. If they're simply going for the look....that's totally cool.

As long as people know what they are getting into and understand what separates properly developed parts that actually improve the car and stuff that just looks cool and is cheap I'm fine with that.

Okay rant mode off.
