What else would you use them for? A manned multi-rotor of course...with 60lbs of Lipos

You gotta be careful which of the turnigy ones you buy, most are crap. They do make a few gems though. Their CC clones are nice and reliable in my experience.

Digikey. There are multitudes of various styles under 10. Megasquirt uses a freescale semiconductor one as I recall.

MS uses Freescale MPX4250AP, 14$ from Digikey.

On a side note, if you are shooting for low boost levels, 3 psi of boost at 7500 rpm only needs 5 hp compressor work at 70% comp. efficiency. So if you upgrade to a 320 amp alternator, you maybe don't need a capacitor bank...

Combustion engg here, my EE knowledge is sketchy at best.

Are you talking about driving the system directly off the alternator? Isn't that sort of missing the point? The idea, at least to me is to act more like a hybrid slowly charging the battery during normal driving and then draining the battery for a quick burst of power.

I'm curious what sources for motors everyone has found. Like many of us I've been looking at motors on HobbyKing.com, but haven't found much else.

I'm also curious if anyone else is activly working on the hardware at this point.

I'm intrigued with the idea of running a bigger alternator in conjunction with a battery bank.

At what mass flow? But it's probably close for 25# per minute.

An old friend of mine measured drive power required for a Vortech supercharger at about 500hp, and like 10 or 12 psi. It was something 40 hp! It's a very steep curve as you start to move some air.

Nope you can get brand new just the compressor wheel and housing on ebay or Kinugawaturbo.com http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/. They run about $150-$200 for what we want. I've got a TD06 Housing with 20G Wheel on order right now. After doing further research I think a 25G is going to be better suited and I might try and change my order.

Edit: Link added to OP
