Or pony up and pay to be a master tuner? How the hell excatly do you think people like visconti got into it?

I know how Visconti got into it. I also considered starting my own shop, and I contacted EcuTek to see about becoming a tuner and got pricing for it.

I still may switch to BRZedit at one point and tune my own car as well. I appreciate your inputs.

There are a couple higher end stand alone manufacturers getting the di control strategies worked out, as well as the same pcm / ecm having regular port injector control as well. Both have made mention of properly controlling the fa20 motor at one point or time. Unfortunately nether system will be budget based.

No worries guys, i sometimes get overzelous with how i think things should be tuned and i feel like there are a lot of folks in this community that are new to the car and tuning scene so like to try and help, but I also need to give people room to do things the way the want so...

tuned for 11.5:1 +10% will put you near 10.5:1 (loose power) -10% will put you near 12.5:1 (too lean under boost with high comp motor). Neither is good IMO.

Just want to be clear that I have not been trying to bash anyone, i don't think either Toni or LJ have had enough time to sort out the tune, I've just been trying to make the point that more work is needed.

I figured i should post one of my logs since i have been expressing my discontent with others fuel trims.

This is from the drive home today, my own E85 tune.

Alright, now I'm out lol....

It is my understanding that the Hydra EMS allows for control of the DI system. It definitely is not budget based.

Totally understandable, but I find myself wondering if the stock tune is that bad, with Subarus billions, and resources, and they messed up a MAF airflow model??

Make me wonder if there is more going on than we "see" or think.

The systems I am referring to make hydra appear to be budget based. For engine management Hydra is an affordable option. Many systems cost much more then the 1900 or so plus options. I had read somewhere syvecs was working on a system that should be able to control the fa20 as well as motec (again I had read it on the internet and not everything you read is true or gets followed through on), and I am sure others will as well over time. Right now the only 2 ems options out side of reworking the factory ecu that I know of are Haltech and Hydra, but I have not been looking much into it as the factory ecu works well.

Yeah, i hear you for sure. The hybrid fuel system really complicates the trims on this car. I spent a fair amount of time dialing everything in on E85. To really get a handle on the trims, you have to adjust each system as well as the global compensation tables. The only change I made to the maf table was at idle and above 3.5 volts to get the fuel map values close to the actual afr.

@whitefrs whats the latest?
