I have 35% all around, and I even did the lightest (10% I believe on the windshield). Definitely helps in LA, and it hasn't been an issue yet. I did just get pulled over this morning for no front plate, though

i am thinking of a windshield tint now. quality films can cut a lot of heat but barely be visible. gotta watch for color change though.

I remember getting pulled over several years ago in my 1993 Silverado just as I completed a left turn at an intersection in Frazier Park (CHP station nearby, top of the Grapevine). I thought for sure I had made an error turning or missed the light. Nope. The officer just wanted to give me a fix-it ticket for tint. So, I was happy not to have a traffic violation, but I was quite disappointed about having to get rid of what I considered light tint.

Since I was a college student back then, I just removed the tint myself. The good thing about that is I didn't have to pay to have it removed and it was relatively easy to do. The bad part was that doing the job myself was like rubbing salt in the wound.

I feel for you. I'm only going to tint the rear windows on the FR-S, because I want my son to have shade on the few occasions he rides back there. Don't worry, we try to avoid actually using the back seat for passengers at all costs.

Yeah, I want to do the lightest available Huber/Crystalline type heat rejecting stuff on my windshield and something like 20% all around elsewhere. I had 35 front/5% (limo) rear on my wagon and never had a problem.

I don't go for dark tints. They make visibility through the car difficult for cars behind you, which can lead to an accident. This may not be a big deal since the car is so low. They also reduce eye contact and hurt night vision.

Yea Im considering the lightest huper optiks on my windshield, 70% I believe. I'm hesitant because of that rainbow effect you see when wearing polarized sunglasses. Really enjoying my hupers so far tho. Awesome for heat reduction.

That cop must have been seriously bored.

I've talked to a few cops and when my friend went on a ride along the cop says they generally don't pull over tint because they have it on their cars too; however, if they do then they're probably realllly bored. lol

Wrong place wrong time I guess... but for future reference you could just say the car came "stock" with the tint. lol

People pay for tint removal??? I grabbed one end and pulled it off.. Used some goo gone and cleaned the adhesive right off.. Took like 10mins a window.. And for my ticket in SoCal, all that was required was showing the tint was removed.. I went right after and had it retinted..

Remember to be careful around the end of the month, that's when I see the most action at the side of the roads. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the ticket quotas I keep hearing that cops don't have... just coincidence.

I am not, at least not yet, but that is the parking structure at state! Good eye! I live about two blocks away and my wife graduated from there a year and a half ago. I will be there in a year or two for finance.

That sucks!
I got pulled over last week for no front license plate in downtown LA. The officer mentioned about my tint and once he did, I immediately felt horrible for getting tint. But good thing he only wrote me for the plate and let me go with the tint.
I believe my tint is about 35%.
