Every BRZ sold for the first 6 months will be at MSRP or higher....but only if the price difference is great between it and the FRS. So yeah I agree with you that you might be able to get a better deal on the BRZ...maybe... Ok for $1000 price difference in the 2012 WRX Premium vs the Limited.. You get: Leather-trimmed upholstery High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights Heated front seats And yeah the navigation is $1000 more. I guess not a bad deal... So that is $2000 for navigation, full leather trimmed upholstery (the leather\alcantara will be cheaper), heated seats and HIDS. Add another $500 for Dualzone AC with push start...and we come up with about $2500 more than a FR-S... So if the FR-s bases at $23k..then the BRZ premium could be at $25.5K...right at the price of the 2012 WRX. |

I sure hope not. Doesn't the base model GC start at $23k? I know the 2.0t Rspec was $24k because I wanted to get one when they first came out lol.

Well it is just the chassis (meaning they could modify it somehow for use)

Geeze, they're just continuing to improve these things. They already revised the suspension and handling twice since the 250/350's came out.

Well this will be a 2nd gen vehicle (not related to the current one) the IS is dragging (style wise they are dragging and can't compete) IMO

But hey if you can get 2% below invoice...that is a good deal. But its not a deal until its done. There is still 6 months to go and things can change. |

The FR-S will be more than this. Heck, the 2012 Scion tC release 7.0 is $21.6K. No way that the FR-S will be cheaper than that car. Tack on at least $1k to $1.5K and you got the bare pricing of the FR-S. If we get lucky. But hey I still think the FR-S is going to be close to the cheapest RWD coupe on the market. Revised price predictions...(I like doing this) FR-S 6 speed manual $23K BRZ premium 6 speed manual $24k BRZ limited 6 speed manual $25.5K |

Does everybody think more than 1 trim for Scion and/or more than 2 trims for Subaru are not going to happen? Has the possibility been completely written off?

As for the Subaru, I think it's possible that there will be a BRZ base along with the already fairly well known trim levels of the premium and limited. I wouldn't be surprised if there were the original 2 trims we know of, or if they add in a third base-level model. However, a base model might compete too much with the Scion which we believe to be the least-luxurious. So again, it's possible that Toyota would not allow that to happen and would heavily petition that Subaru only offer the Premium and Limited trim levels. |

The reason why I posted the question is that now I think the trim levels we know as of now are likely to start just around $25K (basically, all of them are now north of $25K including destination charges) based on all the information I have gotten so far. The price is not necessarily for the masses and if Toyota/Subaru are serious about selling these in decent volumes, it seems logical to add a lower trim level to either brand or both of them. That being said, I do not know what can be stripped further... LSD and aluminum wheels are the first to go. I am not sure if 4 wheel vented disc-brakes are considered standard currently, but if so, they can be let go and vented disc are for the front only , too. |
