I don't know, some of those guys at the autox look dangerous
The guy with the Buick lasabre almost took out the marshal at the end of the course - the marshal was not impressed And one corvette was still on the gas at the end and had to lay on the rubber to stop again just missing the marshal Also the slalom from one lot to the other and the hard right - some guys just looked like they could lose it right there and the last few turns before the end too - many are out-running beyond their tires The FR-S' and miatas are the best out there. That Subaru Legacy wagon was pretty good too I saw UMB run and his run looked good too ![]() Who is the red FR-S and the asphalt #86? Anyone on here ? I won't be doing autox anytime soon in my FR-S thanks Maybe if I had a beater civic hatch one day.... |

AutoX
the red FRS is Colin ( Klinn ). Thanks for the ride along BTW. It was fantastic. The ashpalt is Pete ( Grodenglaive). They will fix the finish line issue next time around I'm sure. I'm thinking your car would have bottomed out at a few of the places on the track Ken. Exhaust sounds great Kenny.

I know it looks pretty crazy to an outsider, but accidents are very rare in autocross.
The courses follow CASC regulations and are designed to keep cars away from people, curbs, and lamp posts. In this case the finish was adjusted mid-event when a problem was recognized. We try to minimize risk, but like any sport there's no guarantee. |

And you're quite right, many people were over-driving those last two corners. It was one of those places where you could never make up much time but you sure could lose a lot with grinding understeer. It's just so tempting to try to put the power down when the finish line is within sight. Quote:

For the curious, results can be found in the MCO forum here: http://www.mco.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15463 Edit: Some great pics you've been posting Mike! I hope you didn't get "escorted off the property" for taking the latest one on Canada Day. Your plate is going to end up in the police watch list!

No sweat, should be fun on Monday if the weather holds.
If anyone is free in the afternoon, come out to Calabogie and experience the track. I'm happy to give ride-alongs anytime, ask Skyllz, lol! We are running the short track so it should be great for us with low-powered cars catching the big boys. Last edited by Slick; 06-04-2014 at 10:38 AM. |

Yes, I plan on it after 9pm
![]() Also, there is a charity car show & shine in Kanata on Sunday that I will be entering my FR-S in. http://www.steeringtowardshope.ca/ There is also a Poker Run involved with this show starting early in the morning - I won't be doing that part this time though. |
