Because those cars are over 20 years old and the motor was terrible.

Really? I always thought they were neat cars, and people seem to like 4g63s.

Motor swap in a heartbeat if the motor was completely effed. Likely 2JZ.

I'm talking a new 4g63, evo 8 or 9. Preferably a 4g63t-mivec out of a 9

I'd either build the stock motor or swap in a built V6 of some variety. Plenty of room, lots of power, minimal weight gain and the weight distribution should be amazing.
Feels weird thinking about a replacement engine for a car I haven't bought yet. Damn, I can't wait.

We can rebuild it, we have the technology!
I would take this opportunity to just rebuild it, I would find out what is broken and fix it, I would also take this opportunity to put in stronger parts, new Pistons, connecting rods, and cam-shafts. Good time to really get to know the car.
