Awww yeah.

Crap, I just took the Rivals off this morning.

Oh well, I want to burn up the stock tires before the end of the month anyways, Costco is going to have a sale on Bridgestone and their non-sale price on the RE-11A is already stupid cheap.

costco sale on bridgestones... huh maybe premature tire change is in my future. costcos price is low enough that I could justify buying tires for the OEM wheels without feeling bad.

The RE-11A is the successor to the high-performance RE-11. It's been getting positive reviews:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40305

Tire Rack

There's not too much information on them yet from the auto-x community, but I trust Bridgestone enough to try them as a daily driver. They should be better in cool and wet conditions than Rivals or ZIIs, at the cost of some hot and dry performance.

And anyways, the price! Costco has them in stock size (215/45R17) for $133/tire. Supposedly they'll have a Bridgestone coupon later in July, which is usually good for $70 off a set of four (and sometimes an extra $30 off mounting). For some reason the RE-11As seem disproportionately good value in the FR-S stock size. They're closer to other high-performance tires in price at other sizes. But I'm not complaining.

That's cheap, but I wouldn't say it's amazing. Onlinetires has the RE-11A for $136.65/ea...

Remember discount matches online tire prices.

Someone I know printed out an estimate after modifying the dollar amount and they beat the price..........

I buy online from Tire Rack a lot myself, but if I can get a tire at Costco (they only carry Michelin and Bridgestone), it's usually cheaper once the shipping is factored in along with mounting cost. It's hard to beat $60 for four tires mounted including disposal. Usually you have to know a guy to get a better price. Plus coupons

I'm not trying to shill for anyone here, just sharing my personal tire-buying experiences.

Do they match the pre-shipping price? That could be good.

I live really close to Andrew. I could pick up the spring compressors and bring them with me if that would be helpful.
I'd like to try some FR-S rear springs on my BRZ sometime to see what tail happy feels like.
