It's not an electric turbo. There's no such thing. Electric supercharger at best.

eBay would disagree with you. But yeah... you're right.

Of course, from the sounds of it, they can go out and have their fun right away and get the tune done at their earliest convenience with no ill effects... so still a win, right?
I would almost certainly be the one guy who did this and ended up with a rod on the outside of the block.

Turbocharger - exhaust
Supercharger - belt
Electrocharger - electric

Works for me.

I was reading through and I might have missed it but is there any concern on dependability of the product. Just thinking about things like corrosion of the connectors and what happens if it gets wet. I really like the idea and I am really liking the results but I am only concerned at how it will stand up over time compared to more traditional forced induction options.

The stock fuelling is supper safe, im certain you could daily drive this thing without a tune and there would be no ill affects.

The CEL is just that, a canned tune from BRZ edit is probably going to give everyone the piece of mind that you should have with a new car.

And the cost of that is not high at all. Any-ways if we can prove it out with a MAP clamp or something for those people that want a buy and drive experience im all for trying

Well the box is 100 percent water-resistant(dont dunk it in a bucket of water lol), thats the major part that you don't want breaking. Turbo seems to be in a safe place(not under the engine) so i dont think that will be a problem.

Thanks,

Heat testing! Couldn't trip the thermals on the unit so that's good! I think the new spot we picked for the control box is a winner.

I dunno I think I'm starting to miss my torque dip lol Not!

Pulls really hard at the bottom.

It means you were only making 83 percent of the power that you approximately would if you were at sea level-ish.

Works for me.
This appears to be more of a dongle than anything else. Superdongle? Donglecharger? Anyway, it's a bit funny how hard people are working to dislike this thing.

I was speaking to the Toyota dealer about this. He said barring anything that they was felt outrageous or dangerous to the engine, the install would be warrantied IF THEY DID THE INSTALL. NOTE: Your mileage may vary, as well as your dealer. Without having seen it, he made no guaranties about the guarantee!

This is cool, and I want one. Think of the rebadge opportunity, for those with the Scion Insecurity Disease. Having a car running partially on batteries, you could rebadge your car as a Prius, or stick a hybrid badge on it. I could haul ass around Portland producing supercharged hydrocarbons with my nose in the air like most other Pruis-driving a-holes.
