perrin or invidia N1??????
hey everyone, I have been struggling with this question for a month already...cannot decide which one to get.. please help me out here.. do you guys recommend perrin or invidia N-1??? I really like the sound of perrin. however I think that N-1 looks very good with the blue tips.
and one more question ... should i also change the front pipe? will it be too crazy loud with non-resonated????? |

I went with Perrin. Catted front pipe and the 3" resonated cat back. The quality of the Perrin system is impeccable, and it sounds awesome too. Go Perrin, you won't be disappointed.

^Agreed. I love my resonated Perrin catback with Invidia catless front pipe. The Perrin can be tweaked to make sure the tips are perfectly centered. I'm not sure about the Invidia

Mine is pretty loud because in have the rev works UEL header. Just the catback alone is quite mild in sound though.

Removing the cat will make it a good bit louder...as mine did. That's why I went with the resonated..to combat that a little. I don't have to worry about my cars getting emissions tested here. I'm just worried about how loud mine will be once I get the Rev Works header. My Silverado(4.3) is headered/catless with large piping to a Magnaflow and it's blistering loud.

A little off topic, but I was wondering if you threw a CEL with that header? I want the same set up and I have a unichip too and was wondering if that removes it

I like my Q300 with catless frontpipe, got some backfire POP POP. Does the Perrin or the N1 have this too?

you also have a brand new car, so u do not require one for 5 yrs i believe. if u get pulled over it is very unlikely the cops is going to check for a cat as well. i would choose perrin over invidia also. larger piping, better quality. invidia is also super loud. |

Not having the cat will make the exhaust a little bit louder. Horsepower wise, you're not really going to be able to tell the difference. The Invidia Downpipe comes with a 200 Cell count HFC which is pretty efficient. If you dynoed the 2 you might see maybe a 1 horsepower difference. It's not noticeable. The sound however probably will be.

Whatever you do, don't make the same mistake I made and scrimp on quality. I did and I landed up with a Greddy EVO III that has the hangers welded on wrong.
I have a Motiv Concepts over pipe and front test pipe. They are the same length as their factory counterparts. When I had the OEM Cat-back on everything fit real nice, just quiet and in my search for a louder setup I chose the EVO III. Well it doesn't fit well and the vendor that sold it to me pointed to Greddy and the Greddy rep blames the Motiv product. Aside from the fact they want me to pay to send it back, they should send a replacement in a box that won't self destruct like the one they sent it in. By the way Greddy, I don't think UPS caused the pipe to be welded wrong. Buy Perrin, If I had thought this out better I would have waited for the 3" Perrin, They build great stuff and it's American Made?

N1 sounds too raspy for my taste. I'd go with Perrin. It has deeper, mature sound.
