I wonder how much "final assembly" was done on these at the Toyota plant. I would guess that it would have to be significant enough to justify the cost of moving the cars, and glowy badges, dashes, and shift knobs does not seem like enough to justify that.

Got confirmation that Beat-Sonic FDA43 sharkfin antenna will be available. They are working on matching the Silver Ignition. I was told information would be released in 2 weeks.

Remember the FR-S MT's don't get the new shifter. The rectangular design makes more sense for an AT, and looks better than this IMO:

I was thinking about this and thought that it was logical that the paint would be only done by toyota since there is no reason for subaru to have the paint since they wont use it on their cars. Then it struck me that pain would have to be early step in assembly process so definatley woul have yo have been done by subaru... Unless the car was actually completley done in a toyota factory? Mayor parts were probably manufactured by subaru factory and put together at toyota? Maybe...

edit: sorry about the typos. Im on my iphone and im too lazy to go back and change

Is there anyone on these forums connected into the industry enough to inquire why these are finally assembled at a different plant?

I used to work in the industry (Toyota specific). I can guarantee it was not assembled there. WAY too much tooling costs for a limited run of vehicles. That being said, if the Subaru plant is over capacity and production numbers are increasing, they could be building a certain percentage of the required demand...I doubt it, but it's a possibility.

Definitely could have something to do with the paint. Seems unusual but the only reason I can come up with. I wonder what the final assembly location shows on the other 10 series models?

At this rate I could be an owner by the weekend.
Done! PIO fog lights ordered in time. I guess that means it also hasn't started processing. But delivery by the weekend is still possible since the dealership is an hour from the port...but then again so are a few others posting here whose cars sat/are still sitting at the port for days.

weeks...mine been at port since 6/4 lol....some are "weeks." and the pictures are killing me, the car looks beautiful, and I want my baby here

Edit: just got a message from my buddy at the dealership, now my car shows as "process 6/25 and it appears as a drop off date of 6/27 or 6/28." I love my guy, he is on top of it.

Toyota as a corporation, you are disappointing...

I was just going to take the car bone stock today, and get the parts installed at a later date, but even that seems to be an issue. Apparently, this guy needs all the parts to go on the bill of sale with the car, and nobody else can handle the paperwork, or else it might impact his commission.

I don't know when my work schedule will afford me the chance to actually take the car at this point.
If you can stand to wait 8 days then you should wait until the first of July to sign your papers. The "Mr. young big shot" will have to wait an extra month to get is commission.

I would think that "Final" just means that Subaru built it per usual and Toyota added their bits onto it, so the cars were finalized at Toyota. I was wondering this when they announced these cars. "Does Subaru really have capacity for this variant?" They could've easily added an extra paint booth for this special color, assembled it, sent it to Toyota, then Toyota could remove and add what they wanted.

Retooling would be simple since the Series 10 is basically a GT-86 Limited.

Any interior shots? Does the dash have the same carbon fibre look as the stock car or is it slightly different?

That's what I meant, that retooling to a different plant would be too expensive.

I see what you mean. Have Subaru make it a GT-86 Limited, then give it to Toyota to swap out what they need at their own location. Thus final location is: Toyota.
