Hmmmm.....The FR-S I bought had an MSRP right at 39.5K, then again it was their show car and this one had been especially done by a local shop owned by Tim Duncan. It came with goodies and it was the Ultra-whiteout edition with the Five axis wheels along with simple bolt-ons and a TRD body kit as well, also with lowering springs a new audio system as well. I'm guessing it depends but I really wouldn't look at resale value unless you are buying a more high end car. That is where resale value comes in handy. The sole reason I traded in my GTR was because I wanted to beat that tax break vs selling privately and having to pay taxes on what I would've sold it for.

Not surprising since the FRS is the lowest refined car among BRZ, japanese 86 and euro/australian GT86.

Actually, its not. I believe there are two trim levels below the FRS in Japan.

Here's a link to the Japanese models.

There's 4 models listed the GT Limited, GT, G, and the RC.

That's true. But one trim is the RC version, which is very barebone and intended only for "professional" racing/drifting/modding purpose. Nothing like that is sold in Europe or America, AFAIK.

EDIT:

oh my lol that msrp was a rip off D: if i were you and I had that much money I'd rather do the little things myself. It's certainly a special car because those TRD kits are rather hard to get, or so I heard. But i mean 40k for some simple 7k work :/ couldve had your own perfected taste into it instead.

I know right??? But that is a dealership for you and when I went to go look at a BRZ one the salespeople was just rude and customer service was horrible. But oh well.....still happy with my decision and I am anxious for my future plans for the car

I thought Sierra Subaru Monrovia was selling BRZ at MSRP? One of the sales did not even bother to contact me regarding the availability.

congrats on it though! but i agree about BRZs, the dealers all suck and they try to mark up the prices or they're just plain rude and horrible with service. You need to get OEM GT-86 headlights

Not surprised by this, there are at least 30 FR-S within 20 miles of where I live. The Hype has obviously died down with the FRS. However the BRZ is still hard to find at dealers. You can now get at least $2k off a new FR-S, so resale value for used will obviously go down.

Just checked my country's used cars web directory for the GT86.

Prices range from $29.900 (3.044 miles) to $57.300 (372 miles and sport bodykit and Remus exhausts).

For our american friends, just so you get the figure, standard price for a new car is about $42.000.
