Did you happen to take a picture of the back side of the stock Pioneer stereo? I'd like to see what it looks like and compare to stereos that I have an interest in replacing it with.

I did not. There is a thread around here where someone does. They were talking getting a brz head unit in an frs. Had pics of both side by side.

I talked to one of the OEM Audio+ reps and discussed the system for a bit. Some might say it is overpriced but I disagree. Besides the OEM fit and customer service/warranty that comes with the device, the DSP amplifier used might look like a generic box but is a Cirrus Logic amplifier and in the same series as $1000+ amplifiers sharing many features. I'm not audio expert but I remember things like bunch of channels, analog digital conversions, and gate technology so no buzzing sounds ever. FWIW I had to take off my tweeters for a bit and I realized how shitty a stock setup sounded.
I'm sure if you put a ton of effort and fine tuning you could get a system that sounds better for the price but it is a lot of headache if you aren't a audio expert and there's no way it will fit as well.

I'm not trying to sound insulting here, and no disrespect meant whatsoever, but unless you're using pro-audio recording gear in a perfect studio environment, and pro-audio playback gear in a perfect studio environment, I don't see what a sound clip is going to do for you.

I would be able to get the gist of the sound difference just like on all the exhaust videos. I know I won't be able to get the exact sound but a little bit of an idea. I'm pretty sure I'm getting this stereo but I have that little lingering doubt.

You can call oem audio and ask if they have a demo in your state. I know some states have dealerships that have them for that purpose.

Ah I see. In that case, you would really want a baseline stock recording using the same audio recording gear to at least get a reference comparison. Otherwise you're just subject to the quality of the recording gear and playback device.
