I'm driving a 2012 Camry today. They just called and said the car is ready. I hope I'm wrong and that dreadful sound is gone.

Drove home in a spirited manor. It's mid 80's outside today. Not a sound for now. I guess I'll wait and see.

If Subaru/Toyota still don't have a real fix as of now, then that means the 2014 models will have crickets too, lol.

Just got home with the green dot pump installed. Filled up with 93 octane E10 gas and drove spiritedly home in and out of traffic and 87 degree ambient heat.

No crickets where this morning I pulled into the dealer with them. Of course I will be listening closely over the next few hundred miles....

Keep us informed, you're part of the small few that have got it done. 1 out of 2 people have said fixed, the other said crickets are back worse than ever. Interested to hear yours after a few fillups.

I will check in as well after a few myself. It seemed fine. But then again so did everyone else's at first.

I'm on my 4th replacement pump. I told the Toyota dealership I will not tolerate this crap and they will see me every month until it stops. Last time they video taped my engine and sent it to TRD in LA. There is simply no excuse for this with the modern technology around.

Got my car back two days ago with a new pump and haven't had any crickets yet. We shall see.

I think it may be a placebo effect but my car seems a bit more peppy.

I know how frustrating it can be, taking a car in for the same problem over and over again. Just when you think its fixed....*cricket.* I haven't gotten the replacement yet, and I have no plans to at this time. Good luck in the future, and take some solace in the fact that you will probably be one of the first to let us all know whether or not a fix is finally in.

Have any of these pumps actually failed? I'm assuming that a pump failure will just result in a non-running engine and not a damaged one. Mine is very intermittent, and I'm not going to worry about it. Maybe I'll be the one to run it to failure.

I will most certainly let everybody how I make out with the new parts Toyota is 'suppose' to be looking into. To be honest, I am SOOOO embarrassed with the car making the noise.
In the meantime, I keep the emerg brake on and rev the engine sometimes as it is so loud you can hear it a block away.

Just bought the car for my wife and realized that our car has the chirping noise at 6800k miles : \ Took it in to Atlanta Toyota in Duluth, GA and they were trying to tell me that it was normal until I brought up the TSB. They agreed to replace it but the damn pump is on back order

Dealership is trying to **** around with me now saying that I've used up my warranties that they may not warranty it again and that i may be out of luck... that's BS if ive ever heard any!
