I drove without mine for 2-3 weeks while I waited for the tow hook mount. Passed multiple cops and didn't get pulled over. I guess it all depends on the cop.

its required in CA, i have never used one on any of my cars, gotten 1 ticket by a meter maid once so i slapped one on that car and got it signed off and havent bothered to take it off but bmw and brz still don't have one.

PBA cards do the trick for me but anyways i havent gotten pulled over here in LI NY

Not worth it IMO. The side mounts look assymetrical and I can't deal with it. The BRZ bumper suits a front plate so I don't mind. Beats the guy having to take a half day off of work to show up to the prosecutor to prove that the plate is now installed :P

I think the probability of being caught is all on where you live when i had a genesis i never had it on for a year and was never bothered. I didnt have it on this car car like a month and no problems. i have mounted on the tow hook plate now and am very satisfied with the way it looks. i have the smoked plate cover and it blends it very nicely.

Im down in ottawa, my first car (2004 nissan sentra se-r spec-v) didnt have a front plate for its whole two years with me, i got pulled over 6 times and every time i got a warning (a fully printed out and put in the system ticket with a 0.00$ balance payable) my second car (2011 scion tc ) had a front plate because the stupid dealership didnt honour my request and drilled my front bumper, now my third car (2013 BRZ sport/tech limited) doesnt have a front plate since i requested the front bumber not get drilled and i havemt had probles with authorities for the 3 weeks i owned it

I've been driving around with it on my dash for about a month and a half now and I haven't gotten any hassles... I live borderline scarborough and markham but I'm in markham majority of the time

I'm in Illinois and it's illegal to not have a front plate, and I haven't had one since I drove it off the lot last June. I've just been very lucky though. I bought the GrimmSpeed mount last week because I've been getting a little paranoid.
