Nothing wrong with extra protection, but honestly, I can't think of a failure mode that the IAT would catch that a Window based flow failsafe would not.... If you get a clogged nozzle or line, low flow trips, if you get a line failure high flow trips.

Ie: a. flow sensor malfunction/damage b. failsafe software malfunction c. electrical malfunction (bad/loose wiring connections) d. Safe Injection boost solenoid malfunction (doesn't send boost to bottom nipple) e. hose to bottom nipple rips, melts, slips off Redundancies are a good thing when dealing with an expensive complicated system. |

The water meth injection is theoretically lowering intake temps by at least 40-50 deg F. The tuner's thought is that if the temps read, for example, 150 F and below then it runs the normal meth tune which has timing advanced. If it reads anything higher than that (like 170 F or 200 F etc) then it will retard timing 5 degrees and add fuel.
To determine these temp windows, we would do a few pulls without meth, then a few pulls with meth. |
