Ebay test pipes are the Wal-Mart greeters of test pipes. Eventually they both leak in public.

I'm actually surprised here. I post criticisms, pictures for OP, and get called a retard. I mean just my 2 cents but go fuck yourself am I right? Like saying "just my 2 cents" makes it ok? Whatever.

That pretty collector is 90% of the value of the header (slight exaggeration but not much). It's probably the most crucial weld in the whole thing.

I think there are several different production runs, each with updated tooling.

The latest (this month) production run is getting delivered here tomorrow.
I think the horrible collector pic was one of the first runs which had issues as admitted by borla.

I'm excited, and will take detailed pictures

I don't have any pics of my collector, but mine bolted right on and I haven't had an issue with it. (other than volume lol)

I wish I took pictures of mine before it was installed.
My flange and collectors ware just fine. welds look good as well.

people love to talk about weld quality a lot. but has anyone bothered to look at the crap on the stock pipes? cuz they look like shit to me.

Truthfully, no one needs to get angry here. You have one guy who has a bad experience with a company, and has provided proof of the low quality product he got.

Another person mentioned being on his third header, looking for a decent quality one.

I don't know about everyone else, but it seriously turns me off to see the Borla collector. No reason to get mad at @post_break for just giving us honest information.

It's not about it looking pretty, it's about it flowing properly. Collectors aren't easy to design/build properly, and it often shows up in lower quality headers.

One of the most politically incorrect statements I have ever read on this forum.

Btw, for shit and giggles.. I'll post a video of my Asphalt FRS when it gets its JDL UEL... mated to a J2 engineering (ebay special) frontpipe and catback.

I've read many references about the importance of a well-built collector and agree that Borla's collector looks like crap compared to JDL's. However, has anyone bothered to compare dyno results between JDL and Borla? I'd like to know how much more hp/tq I'd be getting for the extra $400.
