Ill do a full update later, boarding a flight soon.
I will say this...I'm going to seriously run the numbers for a plan to sell the BRZ and save for a GT-R. Take everything you think you know about this car, multiply it by 10 and you'll get closer to how awesome it is. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2

Sure it isn't as "direct feeling" as some other cars but I wouldn't call it a numb driving experience. I love them. I'm still debating between a used GTR or a new M3 for the next car to replace the FRS in a few years

Yeah that's pretty much how I felt. It is a damn fine car, and really performs better than you'd expect for it's size and weight. It's well beyond my budget, but maybe one day...

I drove our shop GTR on a quick run a while back and it was potentially the most nerve-wrecking experience ever. Pretty mild mods, a ton of power, and followed a customer's Aventador to the body shop and no one even took a second look at the R35.
Left the heat on because I was scared to leave 10&2 on the steering wheel. When the owner jumped in it for the ride back I was blown away by the raw power just a handful of mods can give this thing! At start up, you know you're in for something great. Definitely on the list for cars I need in the future |

Since the FRS BRZ came out, i have seen the term "handling" throw around a lot to offset it underpower issue. While i agree in 1/ Good handling, but slow 2/ Fast, but not good handling You forget there is something in the between 3/ Fast, and good handling. To each of their own about this 3rd species. But GTR is one of them. While Ft86 serves its purpose from Toyota standard, an affordable, good handling, drifting, balance, targetting young consumers. Toyota needs to fill in another position for the Purist who seek for the 3rd species, which was discontinued and last seen as a Supra from Toyota. For now, there is nothing that can beat GTR most practical speed. I dont care what your max HP/Torque are. I care about it acceleration 0-60 in 2.7 seconds ? Even Veyron cant pull that off, let alone Ferrari. I say that is the most practical acceleration you need, as a daily driver or a track racer, or autocross purist. Every one of you will always grin on with that acceleration. Last edited by Whitigir; 06-17-2013 at 10:39 AM. |

Veyron eats a GT-R's cookies all day long and twice on sundays. The new Grand Sport hits 60 in less then 2.5 seconds, and the 1/4 in under 10 seconds.... It has 1200hp, 4 wheel drive, and doesn't weight that much more than a GT-R. Do the math... We are talking straight off the showroom floor. And we are ignoring the fact that a GT-R costs about 1/10th the price of a new Veyron Grandsport. |

Sorry all, busy day at work today.
I don't think there is too much to say about this car that hasn't been said. - It's heavy but handles like it's much lighter. - The acceleration is insane, addicting, laughter inducing, and didn't get old. - 1.5g of deceleration is possibly more intense than the 1g of acceleration. We literally all had a headache (my friend and his son, who was 17, 5-10, and fit in the back seat) after our 0-fast-0 run. - It was ridiculously easy to drive. It was comfortable, had tons of trunk space (dat ass) and had every feature you could want in a modern car. - During my morning rush-hour drive back to the airport I put everything into comfort mode and it was more comfortable to drive than the BRZ. My photos all turned out pretty poorly, so I'm not going to share them. Sorry. A quick acceleration to (cough)45mph(cough): [ame]http://youtu.be/usNKL94kJv8[/ame] So after I got back to my BRZ, which I hadn't driven in 2 weeks, I realized that I still really liked it as well, for a variety of different reasons. The GT-R didn't feel as heavy as it is (3,829lbs), but in comparison the BRZ feels light, agile, and like you pour into it. It has a better seating position, and in general just 'feels' better. But, driving the GT-R did make me realize how slow the BRZ is. It feels like a Corolla now! That said, the Full Blown E85 kit would put me at the same power/weight ratio as the GT-R. I figure that I can make the BRZ one hell of a car for 1/5th of the price of the GT-R and still buy a used one sometime down the road. In summary, save your money and go rent one of these, it will be one of the great car experiences of your life.

To get close to the base GT-R though in terms of handling and interior quality the add-ons will probably put it closer to 70K, and it will still be 100hp down on the GT-R and about 1-1.2s slower from 0-60.
-3LT interior package, with leather-wrapped interior ($8,005) -Z51 Performance Package ($2,800) -Competition sports seats ($2,495) -Exposed-carbon-fiber roof panel ($1,995) -Magnetic Ride Control with Performance Traction Management ($1,795) -Dual-mode exhaust system ($1,195) -Carbon fiber interior trim ($995) -Sueded, microfiber wrapped upper interior trim ($995) So take this and add another 10-15K to get the same power performance and the C7 will be near 85K to hit GT-R numbers, which is still a 2+2 coupe and something you can daily. What Chevy is doing is great, and 51K entry is also awesome, but it's not quite in the same league as the GT-R when viewed as a whole package. Edit: Also keep in mind that the GT-R is often compared with the Porsche Turbo S, which starts at 183K. I know the GT-R is out of reach for a lot of people as a new car, but getting a well taken care of one in 8-10 years -is- doable for a lot of people.
