24 Hours of Le Mans 2012

Just thought I'd post that the race is on! Toyota is fielding a Hybrid LMP car for the first time.. which will go up against Audi's E-tron cars! Audi's dominated this race over the last 15 years.. so lets see what happens!!

It's on Speed Channel- ch 786 in Newburgh, NY area.. I always try to watch as much of this race as I can!

I wonder if that 1.6 is a modified version of the Juke motor. Don't know why Nissan doesn't throw that thing in a sports car similar to the BRZ (lightweight competitor and better representative to the Z brand).

Yes it is. I believe it's only making about 320hp.

I was hoping to be able to catch more of this today. I'm getting really sleepy and there's still 5.5 hours left. Good thing I'm not out there racing.

It has been pretty interesting and fun to watch. Although i'm very uninterested in hybrid cars and prototypes that look like rocketships. I like the GT cars that actually look like cars. Either way it's very exciting.

AUDI WINS!!! AGAIN!! Always loved Audi.. even when they weren't all that popular here.. They used to be the car for people "in the know".. Pricing was also much less than their counterparts at Mercedes or BMW...Now they are more popular than ever! Which is why I cant afford one..LOL

Absolutely! I know some people find these races boring.. and really theres no way I could watch all 24 hours.. but I just find this the most exciting race next to Formula 1 or Indy Car.. Track is so long and the whole racing at night thing.. very cool. Also.. love seeing these cars in the Pits/Paddock.. the teamwork is amazing to me!

I only got to see about two hours worth at night until I passed out, and when I woke up they were having the finishing ceremony lol.. When I tuned in Toyota and the Deltawing were already out lol.

Anyone excited about ALMS? Mazda's joining the fight... in 2013
