Seating and comfortability issues

Hi, firstly I'd like to start off by saying how much I like driving this car. I've had the car for about 2 months. My only gripe with this car is the seats. Without emphasizing too much on my issue, I where everyone rests their leg on when braking at a red light. Maybe I'm just being picky but I feel no thigh support when resting my foot on the brake. Any input of appreciated

I personally find the seats extremely comfortable. I tend to use the handbrake when I stop at slight hills though. Have you tried adjusting the seat position?

The seats are comfortable, it's the seating position that I feel awkward in. Driving around town is fine for about half an hour but after that it becomes a chore to brake. I have adjusted the seats several times and even went as far as raising the accelerator pedal assembly to be more aligned with the brake pedal. Switching between brake and gas took me forever to get used to because of the distance between the gas and the brake.

With that said, I still sometimes find myself regretting the purchase of this car just because of the lack of comfortability I'm experiencing. It's bittersweet happiness I feel whenever I look at my frs. How I envy those that don't share my discomfort.

My lack of accommodation to this cars seats maybe because I'm coming from a vehicle that had power seats. I hate ranting but I feel a second alternative to providing a solution for my issue may be to see what other owners have to say of the matter.

I'm tall at 6'3.. And have always had issues with sport car fitment.. Wen I first tried this car, I was not pleased with the comfort as the seat was too low and I felt like I was sitting like an "L" . Then I raised the seat which made a world of difference so I was not all 90 degrees angled.. Thankfully there is enough headroom for me to do that.. I'm used to adapting to sports car I can't fit in..
This one is one of the easier ones for me.. Hope u get it worked out..

I don't know if it would play a part in solving your problem or not but I've noticed several times new owners complaining about the seats headrests. They were not accustomed to driving a car with a 'laid back' seating posture. Perhaps move your seat forward a notch and lean your seat back further to the rear. Bring the wheel out a little and see if that might do some magic.

Is the proper seating only accommodated to a 9 and 3 driving position?

I've had the car for about 5 days now. I will say it took me a better part of an hour to get the seats adjusted for my height. (I'm about 5' 7") I'm short, but I found that raising the seat height and keeping the back pretty straight (none of that lean-back high school driving) is the most comfortable/best driving position in this car. It was awkward at first but I really think an "upright" position feels, well.... right. At least for me. Just don't make it too upright, or you are eating the steering wheel I also think the seats are pretty supportive in the lumbar region but as far as the thighs go, there is a little to be desired. Maybe try adjusting the seat so that when your foot is on the dead pedal, your knee is still slightly bent. Works for me but I should also note that this is my first MT sports car so If all else fails, maybe go the aftermarket route and look for a seat that fits you better.

You're spot on here.. I do find myself driving more naturally doing the 9 and 3 position.. It draws me in to do it.. I think not having an armrest makes you go for the wheel with both hands.. And the car makes you feel like speed racer..
Have you found any additional comfort since u first posted?

Yes I have found more comfort now that I recieved my armrest in the mail yesterday. I have the seat lowered all the way right now because it gives me the best center of gravity and my armrest allows better control of the steering wheel. I'm still lacking thigh support when braking but I guess it's just something I'll have to accommodate to.

I'm not an expert with the aftermarket seating department for the FR-S/BRZ but I do know a large one exists, and one of them is bound to help you I think someone else can elaborate on this. I hate seeing someone not enjoying a car because they aren't comfortable like yourself there's bound to be a fix
