My first thought was that you are seeing the yellow in the pearl (I didn't know about the colour mismatch on metal versus plastic).

Lots of cars have this issue nowadays unfortunately. The flat white on my civic wasn't really a problem, but friends with pretty much any other color, including a flat red, had issues with the paint matching between bumpers and the rest of the car.

mine does the same thing..also does the same thing on my prius in the blizzard white pearl..i was told its from what they use to prime the vehicle and the clear coat. the plastic seems to do it the most. pearl reflects all kind of colors just wax it and stand back youll never see it

I just noticed this on mine as well. Someone tried to tell me that my car was supposed to be two-tone. So are y'all trying to say that there's no fixing it? I'm not thrilled to have yellow bumpers....

the problem with white cars ahhh lol

Anyways, this will happen over time with white cars.

My GF's TL has same problem. My 370z after one year however didn't show any fading or changing of color and it was white.

Like everyone said though, i think its alluminum vs polyurethane that is causing the problem

That picture actually looks pretty bad, the car is only 1 year old too

Garage
could be debris (need to clay bar) or oxidation (needs polish) OR could be the way the paint is.

Wow, I'm so glad you posted this. Now I have nothing to worry about. Thanks for the helpful picture. The black outline is really what did it for me.

Useless.

Allow me:
(1) Plastic parts versus metal parts expand/contract at different rates with temperature, so they will not have the same paint formula.
(2) Depending on the color, they have to take into account looking at the car at different angles, but the car itself isn't shaped like a box. Even though you may be looking at it from one spot, different parts/areas are not facing you the same way due to curves, etc. This can have an affect on the way the color looks. The "lesser evil" in making it look uniform all over will be picked.

You don't happen to be wearing yellow or khaki or parked near a yellow car right? I know it sounds dumb but we've all had that "what's that mark" only to realize it's a reflection of the emblem on our shirt or something.

I just have to point out that these people who are trying to call us crazy must not have white. Because I've looked at mine in different lights, different time of day, in the shade, in the sun, clean, dirty, different angles. I've had other people look at it. My front bumper is not as bad as the rear. And it was not like this a year ago when I bought it. I understand the metal vs. plastic surfaces. This has definitely changed over time. I'm going to try getting it detailed and refresh the paint to see if that helps. I'll ask Toyota at my next service as well. Until then, most of the comments from people here are useless information!

Is this covered by warranty?

Anyone else have this?

i have quite a bit of experience with detailing cars and unless youre using a synthetic polymer , caranuba and other organic waxes build up over time and yellow, it's even referred to as "yellow wax" it can harden pver time too, try polishing your cAr and switching over to a synthetic sealant (wax)
