Whiteout Yellowing?

Hey guys, anyone else have this problem? I first thought my car was dirty, but after washing and waxing it, im starting to think this is not my imagination or OCD kicking in. The photo is a little more forgiving here, but you can definitely see a difference up close and in person.

Is this covered by warranty?

Anyone else have this?

the whole rear bumper is yellowish, compared to the quarter panel.

hmm, didn't know that.

Ah, that's what you're talking about. Yeah, pearly paints look different in plastic vs. metal surfaces. It's less apparent in non-pearl paint jobs.

If only our whole car were made in full-aluminum... (The only parts on the car that are aluminum is the hood and aluminum alloy wheels)

bumpers, and body panels never match from factory. I also have a whiteout frs and the bumpers are butt matched, that's normal because the chassis and plastic bumper covers are painted in different facilities. The pearls also make it easier to notice. Hope this helps, nothing to worry about here

My 350Z did this same thing although not as extreme when I had it, and yes it is due to the rear bumper being plastic vs the body being alluminium. It's almost impossible for paint to perfectly color match when they are 2 different materials. i think that because your car is white, that the effect is more dramatic. My Z was grey, and although I noticed it in bright sunlight, it wasn't too obvious and even harder to spot when lighting got darker. I f its extremely noticeable in person, I would take it in. I think the front tow hook hole covering on the whiteout fr-s's have a slight discoloration too if Im not mistaken?

Aaand there is yellow in that pearl btw.

I had an Aspen White GD WRX, and the paint definitely discolored.

It also depends on lighting and the angle you are looking at the car. My white RSX-S was like this, so is my fathers white Maxima.

I've owned 7 white cars, and they've all had similar issues. So far my BRZ has had the best paint matching. I wouldn't worry about it though.
