For the T7019A, are you guys still flashing to a new rom or whats the best with that unit? I'm reading through but after 700 pages its all blurring together haha, I found some info on the TUNA but not the other unit though I still have a dozen pages to sift through

Fixed the issue of the dvd viewing protection by going into the bluetooth settings, change device name and going into a 'manufacturers setting page'. Just a OFF selection and now it plays dvd's always...

Inside the settings menu there were other interesting things that could be changed: illumination behaviour, fan control, radio sensitivity, dvd park brake protection, car logo, radio region, etc...

Has anyone been able to get the knockoff to work with the factory GPS antenna on the BRZ?

The factory gps antenna on the 86 is actually just under the dash, so I assuming it may the same for the brz, as such it's not to hard to remove the factory antenna and replace it with the one supplied in the kit.

I was under the impression that the BRZ's GPS antenna was actually part of the whole antenna housing on the roof. If that's wrong then fantastic!

No no you're correct, the BRZ's GPS antenna is located on the roof.

Ok, been off the forums for a bit so I wasn't keeping up with this thread completely like I intended. Started to read it from start to current but after getting to page 18 I lost my patience. A few quick question.

1.) Has anyone gotten a hard drive to work successfully with any of these units?

2.) Has anyone gotten a BT keyboard to work with these, regardless of using an internal or external BT adapter?

3.) Any word from Ca-Fi about their updated Android system? I think it was supposed to be 4.1 or 4.0?

4.) Still need some clarification on the BRZ GPS antenna connector.

5.) What's the consensus on audio quality on these units if I'm using the RCA outputs?

I have, but I used an SSD with a USB->Sata adapter. I did it as a proof of concept without doing in depth testing as I have a 160GB iPod that I use for music storage.

2.) Has anyone gotten a BT keyboard to work with these, regardless of using an internal or external BT adapter?

I haven't physically tried this, but I'm sure it would work after rooting with an external BT adapter.

3.) Any word from Ca-Fi about their updated Android system? I think it was supposed to be 4.1 or 4.0?

I haven't kept up with Ca-Fi after my customer service experience with them back when returning the unit. No news has been spread of an update.

4.) Still need some clarification on the BRZ GPS antenna connector.

The knockoff has it's own GPS. You don't use the stock one.

5.) What's the consensus on audio quality on these units if I'm using the RCA outputs?

Audio quality is better than stock out of the RCA's. I can't attest to the internal amp when not using RCA's as I never used it.

@2forme, interesting you have a 160GB iPod for music.

I have as well but the iPod lead from the unit will charge my 30GB iPods but not my 160GB classic. Weird as they should both be the old voltage.

@2forme

Thanks. I know you had poor experiences with Ca-Fi as a company. I was mostly interested in this as it seems all the Ca-Fi knockoffs are based on the same hardware platform so any improvements to one vendor I would hope cascade to all other vendors eventually.

As for the SATA SSD that sounds pretty great and on par with what I'd want to do. I have about 400gb of MP3's. I'm hoping that the Google Music Player makes browsing large libraries fairly easy.

Holy hell 400GBs? I thought my 96 was a lot of music.

You know if you want to share the 400GB's, I'll test it on the stereo for ya haha

@Tobz had my antenna issue looked at today.

When shark fin, perrin 2" and perrin 4" aerials used reception is rubbish.

Swapping back to stock aerial reception is much better. This indicated to dealer that wiring to Toyota antenna is ok. Tried my perrin 2" on a stock Toyota head unit and worked fine.

Seems to me that the T7019A has a compatibility issue with the Toyota aerial using the Toyota amplifier etc.

Had an autoelectrician have a look. He said they have seen similar issues and an inline aerial amplifier should fix the issue so he is getting one and will put it in and test it for me. It will be something like this one by the picture Is aw on their stock system http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Car-Anten...7ae506e&_uhb=1

That's good to know. When he installs the inline
Amp, see if he can confirm where to connect the blue wire too so we can add these in for the future.

That's really good news!
