With a draw-through blower, it acts more like a throttlebody. You would have 500hp worth of air trying to be inhaled through it instead of shoved through it.

To touch on Mines13's good point---my Goal is 15psi or simply one atmosphere of pressure. With 7.5psi, you are adding 1/2 the displacement worth of air (The "box 6 feeling" that has been associated with the Sprintex.) With 14psi, you are doubling the airflow of the existing engine. That would feel like a "Boxer 8", basically. 21psi would be a "Boxer 10". 29psi would be a "Boxer 12".

Goals are important. The versatility among the boosted options are a healthy thing. These are like different masks or characters for the same car .

A "hit" of power or "yank" (torque)---Roots, twin screw, n/a--good for autocross or tight road course, drift (IMO...).
A "rush" of power, or "horsepower"---Turbo, centrifugal, nitrous---good for drag, standing mile, fast road course.

14psi making 400hp or thereabouts would tickle my fancy. I don't know if the valve springs could do it, though. These are supposedly weaker than the WRX. Anyone know for sure?
Well worded, the 940cc is pretty much as small as you can go on this engine as far as charger displacement is concerned, this is excellent if your primary goal is response in torque delivery, that "3L, 6 cylinder" feeling we love to talk about. 400hp would require a larger displacement unit for certain. Honestly, we are not seeing close to that and it feels pretty nasty as is. I am more of a track/back road kind of guy however... More then enough to get the car to rotate at will on throttle in most instances; as the product will ship.

It was critical for us that this system only enhance the car, fill in the holes, improve driveablity and add to what is a brilliant enthusiast driver's platform. Not so much as to upset the original vision for the car... I strongly feel that you will agree that we have met that goal.

Are you able to talk at all about the efficiency at different boost levels? Not sure what the limit of the .94L blower is? When there are diminishing returns etc.

I know Innovate is releasing a turn-key approach but I was just curious from the tuner perspective. I've never owned a supercharger before.

My goals are probably consistent with most people interested in this kit. Usable power, more road course/back roads oriented, and OEM driveability/reliability.

Awesome, looks like this is the kit i'll be purchasing

Sounds like exactly the right amount of power for this car.

Also eagerly waiting to confirm that you're using Unichip

Exactly

Think long and hard about tuning this with unichip. Not saying it can't be done, but they don't have a map released for this or any other FI kit. That's why I sold it and picked up ecutek. If you have a local tuner that can manually then you are lucky...

I'm sticking with Unichip while i'm NA until I get a supercharger. I'm not worried whether they release an FI map or not. For $350, unichip is a drop in the bucket (overall in FI costs) and the transition to ecutek would be easy. And if they do, it's a win for me

How does the car do with this kit and beefy tires/wheels? I am looking at making a wide-body track whore. Also, do you get wheel hop at speed?

It really does look like Toyota made this kit for the 86. I couldn't be more excited to get this thing up and running. Dyno and track video footage over the next few days.
