The interior doesn't really have anything to do with driving dynamics, which we're discussing. You just seem adamant about not ever wanting to drive a newer one and basing your opinion of it on a much older version that has since been updated while not giving it a chance just because you don't like the interior. Apparently that didnt stop you in 2006.

I sat in a '13 Mustang recently V8/no TP. I test drove it around Van Nuys and while it did have a kick, the handling could best be describer as "meh" and I didn't feel comfortable pushing it to its limit. This is after 2 years of me promising to get myself a Mustang because I love them so much. I don't know much about the suspension geomtery/weight ratio, I just know that it wasn't the car for me. Straight line driving, sure, put a big smile on my face, but I was always wary around corners because it really did feel kind of heavy. OTOH, the 2013 models are just plain beautiful and the Boss editions are just
. Too bad I didn't drive one of those...I test drove a used 350Z before that with low miles and was well taken care of. TBH, I actually preferred the Mustang's handling, but that totally could have been because it was used. It felt uninspired. I couldn't pinpoint any specific part that I didn't like again, but it just didn't feel right. I test drove my FR-S once and it was like at first sight/drive. My friend, who is a longtime Honda/Acura devotee says the handling is far more responsive than most of the cars he has driven, and he has been in M3s, Subies and tons of Civics/Accords. I love how I can have fun with it in a very not-so-legal way, but also use it as a DD with little issue.Point in case, everyone has their own opinion. Do what feels right for you. Unobtanium, I'm glad you made the switch and hope you look forward to many miles of enjoyment out of your future baby .

The 370Z can't be that bad. I only test drove the 350Z and if the 370Z is lighter and more powerful, it has to be at least moderately good because the 350Z was pretty decent (shoddy interior though).
I also find a lot of anti-US car sentiment here... has anyone actually driven some new domestics lately? They have come a long way - I have a slight bias to Japanese but I will never turn away from driving a domestic simply because I rent cars all the time for work (I travel) and have driven quite a handful of domestics and the odd Nissan here and there. Mustangs are nice but not the scalpel I want in a car. Good butcher cleaver though. The new Ford Focus ST looks awesome and their newer lineups look great. I rented several Fiestas, Focuses (regular one), Fusions and they all felt great. The Nissan Maxima on the other hand, felt lethargic and used - maybe because it was abused as a rental? Not sure. |

I am definitely excited to see what Ford does with the 2015 Stang. The Mustang was simply overdue for a refresh. I really can't say the same for Chevy or Dodge/Chrysler though. |

If you want a car that will mirror your FR-S/BRZ, the Corvette is the only one I have driven that came close. The suspensions feel like the same person set them up. |

as far as the interior goes, if you can live with it, more power to you... but I always place my arm on the top of the door panel and that hard plastic feels like shit, plus my knees hit the underside of the dashboard... and as far as seating position, I doubt that changing to the recaro seats will remove the feel that you're sitting very far away from the edge of the car... in my 06 it felt as if I was sitting in the passenger seat |

I'm in Los Angeles.
I was on the 10 fwy just now and a 370z was trying to get me to race with his ricer fly by's, holy crap I always feel like they have to prove something lol. Sadly these guys don't know, I use to have one. They are great cars but the owners gots to relax lol, I feel they are taking offense to all the great reviews the twins get |
