battery capacity for bluetooth OBDII

Hi guys, total newb with electric stuff... I would like to run the DashCommand app via Apple CarPlay or the AppRadio on a head unit, and I was wondering if running the car with the bluetooth or a wifi OBDII module always plugged in would drain the battery. I have a tiny Shorai with a short reserve hour, so anything that will drain the battery is a concern for me. Is there a way the OBDII scanner will turn on with ignition, or any other smart solution? thanks in advance.

Avoid the cheap adapters and get one of these. It shuts down automatically.

You're welcome.

I've had the LX for a while now and I leave it plugged in all the time, including winter.
