Well, i was going to buy the GT86 couple of months from now, but then i saw the pictures of the ft-86 open concept and i really liked it. Should i wait until that goes into production?

Wont be for quite a few more months (Maybe sept. if you're lucky). Also keep in mind it's going to be slightly changed from those concept pictures. I'd say decide which you value more: a hardtop coupe now or a convertible that you need to wait for.

Why dont you wait like a week more and see the Presentation in Geneva, it will make you a more informed buyer.

![]() Although, the auto is still good and fun in this car. That being said, I wouldn't buy the convertible but that's just me. Its probably going to be at least 2-4k more, rather spend that on mods. |

I don't know what your budget was for a new car, but remember that it's going to be a tad more expensive because it's a convertible... I'm guessing $30k-35k and there are a lot of other cool cars in that price range.
And there's always a solution to this problem!

If you want a convertible, then by all means wait. And then wait a bit longer to see how well the drop-top technology works out. I would want to monitor the forums for at least one full product cycel before I bought a convertible from the Toyobaru brothers. Leaks into the interior are not the trivial things they used to be when we all drove MGBs and such. |
