Just did a closer inspection and cleaned off some of the salt. There is definitely slight melting on both of taillights (USDM Clear). Ugh. Time to contact my vendor, luckily, they're a brick and mortar store in the next neighborhood over.

Seeing I havn't seen an ounce of support from any vendors regarding these issues. I have taken it upon myself to contact a Japan rep that's is in direct contact with Toms in regards to this issue. Hopefully will get more answers, as for now the only solution we are seeing is defective tails being replaced with more defective tails

I'm being sent a set of USDM reds to try out Instead of the clears.

BTW someone else visitied the physical location in LA about this issue.

You should be happy with the red ones. No reported issues with those so far. My red JDM ones were flawless

Small update:

I've had the USDM Red lights installed for a couple days now, and no signs of this issue.

Its obviously only the clears that are having this problem.

Yeah I don't believe there was any question to whether or not the Red Toms were affected at all, as all issues so far have been isolated to the Clear Toms
However, I would like to see some hard numbers on issues with USDM verses JDM. But it's clear so far that both are affected

I have clear JDM for 3 months on car, everything fine. I have all blinkers LED and I didnt use supplied tapturn module, I have special one from Canada.

I placed an order on Clear Tom's USDM and the vendor said that this issue is actually a rare case. The vendor also told me that they are being shipped a new batch of tom's which should solve the problem.

Thanks for the update!

Now I just hope that Australia isnt getting screwed over and sent dodgy batches... Granted the place Im getting them from seem friendly and willing to reduce any pain if it does occur, but Id rather not be touching the tail lights once installed

Yea, vendor did specify that it isn't guaranteed that its fix but they reassured me that the issue was an isolated case compared to the amount that they have sold. Regardless there is always the manufacture warranty

And this isnt as bad a problem as LEDs dying... As the driver Im hardly gonna get to see the tail lights operating, and I'd rather not have the local law enforcement inform me of it (esp. when Im sure they've heard "Oh really? Shit, didnt know!" excuse).
