got my new fuel pump and my chirps are gone

they were supposed to replace my ECU but the one they got didnt work or they dont know how to get it to work.

Yea i dont understand either...we all know they are aware of the issue but still no tsb issued and it sucks because the symptoms come before the cel so if you dont have a cel they just tell you to go away and wait till it comes on...my fuel pump is being changed first before they work on the cel because thats the process they were told to follow...we all know that the hpfp wont fix the cel but thats the first step they are taking to fix the cel..and what sucks is the the ecu's are on back order so i have to wait till they say its ok to order the ecu so this problem might not be fixed till like jan and thats just unacceptable

no more chirps since picking it up last night. Will let you all know if that changes...

Just dropped my car off. I said I got three issues: backlight condensation, Chirping from the HPFP and a ticking noise around the engine. They've taken it in and said it should be an hour or two and they'll complete diagnosis. Ill update you guys on what they come back with.

Backlight--known issue, will replace taillights
Chriping--known issue, will replace HPFP
Ticking--normal part of the DI system.

They just called me to say they're replacing the backlight but couldn't produce the chirp or tick... Heading over to see if I can reproduce it for them... Not feeling good about this.

My ticking is awfully loud. Like hear it across the street loud. Is that normal? Also I did have my FR-S tuned. Could that cause the tick and squeak?

I guess it depends on what the tune did--anything is possible. Would have been handy to know that. And with the squeak, are you referring to the chirp at idle, or is it something else?

Chirp at idle... I couldn't reproduce the ticks but the squeak they heard. I popped the hood and they said its the LW pulley I installed. They say that's causing all the ticks and chirps. They told me the pulley and tension pulley have too much vibration. They're ordering the tail light but say they can't hear anything wrong with the HPFP... When you dip your head above the engine you can clearly locate the noise sourcing from the right of the engine and at the HPFP... They said they don't hear it... Seriously??? I'm getting frustrated. I'm going to another Toyota Shop because they've dealt with LW pulleys and didn't blame that!

here at the service center at Desert Toyota.... not looking good :/ they don't seem to be aware of the issue.... it's gonna be a long day :/

My car is going to the dealership on Friday morning to get the HPFP fixed and the hopefully the ECU reflashed. The idle dropping is getting pretty bad.

Has anyone get replaced at Longo with the new HP fuel pump yet? They told me they never done one yet. I'm waiting for them get to know the car or at least done couple of car first.

They replaced mine and it all went away no more idle dip no more chirps... then they came back and Toyota said that they will not fix it again. So I called Scion USA and they are now helping me get this problem fixed. If this happens to you it's best to not argue with them and just call and make a complaint they will assign you a case manager to ensure it gets done right.
