Another question - How did you start your deal with them? Did you mention upfront that you want to ship it to CA? And how flexible are they with the price they post on their website?

Thanks in advance!
I got the silver limited 6mt. it's no longer listed though. i pretty much just emailed all the denver dealers and whenever i got an offer i'll prsent it to the other dealers until they couldn't go any lower. specifically mentioned that i'm from CA and would fly in or have it transported. most dealers don't want to handle the transport but heuberger helped me out with it and the price was only $550 to socal which i thought was pretty good after comparing to uship.com estimates. i got the car for UNDER invoice! pretty wild after reading about all the markups here in socal. i thought about waiting for a 2014 but then figured the pricing will probably go up after the weather clears up in CO.

good luck on your search!

If you don't mind me asking, what was the rate they gave you when financing from them? Coz 1.49% is pretty damn good I must say.

I was approved for 1.49% 60mo from PenFed and wanted to go through with them but since Karen got me a good deal I wanted to see if they could match, ended up being 1.59% 60mo 100% financing. It'll amount to $1 more a month but they'll take care if all the paperwork. I was worried about transporting and financing and now they're taking care of all that. Couldn't be any easier so far

Congrats guys! Yeah, transportation is really no big deal. I think the drivers are all sub-contractors anyways so there is no one really preferred by the dealer. Some charge more than others based on who gets a cut and all.

My self-arranged transport was about $200 less than the dealer's quote so the salesguy quietly admit they have to call around themselves, just like I did. The transport broker I used then provided me with the truck company details. Of which all were wrong because the assignments can change based on logistics until the very last moment. I guess it depends on who is closest and have the time and resources to do the pickup and delivery.

Eventually I did get hold of the driver and was able to talk to him while he crossed into Nevada. Yeah, I had no idea where the car was after it was picked up until then!! Then we spoke as he dropped cars off in Valencia and then to me. When I met him, he turned out to be a great guy. Yes I had a stereotype in mind, burly, open pot belly, unshaven smoker ready to pound me for the balance. This guy was probably in his 30s, dressed almost business casual and very courteous. He took his time, even loaned me a much more powerful flashlight to inspect the car, under and around, while he do his thing to unload. He had an M5 and a RR to unload still and this was already 8pm.

The only sticking point is whether you want the dealer to wash the car prior to being picked up. I had mine washed just so the transport company can visually inspect the car to check for scrapes, scratches or even dings/dents. I presume they do but cannot confirm that. Of course, later my Opti-Guard guy then told me that car wash caused micro scratches on the paintjob which he has to spend time removing.

But it's all good and hopefully your delivery is as good as mine.

Good Luck

Any word from our friends at Heuberger? I was told that they are expecting a shipment around the 20th.

Yeah, that's still the estimate for me as well. Nothing new except impatience that's building up in me!

Have you contacted anyone about your BRZ yet? I've noticed them disappearing from available online inventory as the late March delivery date gets closer.

Nope! Haven't heard anything for the past few days. I will probably give them a call on Friday just to check if the shipment is on track.

How did the maintenance go for you? Were you able to get it done for free in CA?

Good to see this thread is still going. I just last week registered my car in CA that I bought from Flatirons in Boulder, CO about two months ago. Pretty easy DMV experience, glad I made an appointment.

Didn't know you had to get your VIN verified outside BEFORE you go inside, heads up to anyone registering out of state.

Feels like a real car now with actual plates, was getting sick of the paper ones.

i almost settled paying $500 over MSRP at the least for a 6MT premium with no options at all out here in the bay area. in fact, i was getting discouraged that i may not even be able to buy one due to the ridiculous mark ups!

but thankfully i discovered this thread! i was able to put a deposit ($1000 refundable) for a WRB 6MT premium with popular package 1a and a spoiler. ended up getting quoted for $1,020 below invoice before tax/licensing and delivery through heuberger motors.

car doesn't arrive at the dealership until the 26th, but its a heck of a deal for a car thats in transit, especially since i don't have to wait for months for exactly what i want. just got back from my local Scion dealership to try the FR-S and thoroughly enjoyed it. can't want to finalize everything and have the car in my driveway! glad to be part of this community, and eventually on team co>ca if all goes well.
