Yes it does for several reasons. One hot water has a lower surface tent ion than cold therefore spreads thinner allowing for quicker cooling and freezing. Also it has less air in it again allowing for quicker freezing. This is a simple and basic science taught to every 5th grader (in Canada). And if you still don't believe me go to your local rink and ask the guy driving the Zamboni.

I know a lot of peoe up here just use their leaf blower. Actually leaf blowers get more use on snow than on leaves up here. Best way to get the clearest sidewalks and such to make sure there's nothing left to form ice

Warm water can freeze quicker than cold water under the right
onditions. Not always though. And the hot water in a zamboni also serves to melt chips and bumps before it refreezes flat. If a zamboni spread water that was 0.01° C, it would freeze before warm water but still leave the imperfections. Anyways back to using it to clear ur car, steaming hot
ater can also strip caranuba wax easily.

What is so hard to understand? Mike, with your logic it makes no sense that my car is dirty after driving in rain - since dirt doesn't fall from the sky.

Wiping snow off down to the paint is like using sand paper to wash your car, period.

I just use my hand with few layers of soft gloves, or 1 thick glove and soft glove on top.
If you start pushing the show, they'll clump together and will slide off of the car.

Story gets different with 30+ inches of snow... then carefully use shovel until the car's level.

Few inches of snow we got in this past March... my dad used a broom on my car and he left a 2ft long scratch... faaaaaaaak
