ive driven a new mustang, and well the steering feels dead, i feel like im driving a boat around on land, it fast, it just sucks for the driver, 0 feedback was 1/2 the fun my celica is to drive. even to fast food i could imagine how boring that thing would be....

Also, putting that much horsepower stock would price the car out of a lot of potential buyers, as most people looking to buy a Scion don't expect to pay any more than mid 20's at the most. I for one can't really go over $25k and even that is pushing it. I need this car to be low $20's just for me to afford it so I'd rather get something affordable and add power later when I have the money rather than a higher car payment I can't afford right now.

Crack your empty head, everybody coming up with at least a 300hp & here they are giving us only 200? What is 200 nowadays? I dont even think it could move you & your fat gf.

Why these cars (plus more) have 200 or less powers & why am I still see at the track? & some of em beating those 300hp cars?

Power hungry is fine, but if you're looking for power go w 370z, 1M, Camaro, Vetts, Stange, IS-F, STI, EVO, GT-R, & all those high price tag machine.

FRS idea is affordable light weight sports car that you drive & not car drive you. Sadly most of +300hp cars aren't in "affordable sports car" list.

Why can't we level the car? Start from $20k to $35k.

$20K gets N/A engine, $35K gets a turbo charged engine.

Well, if this not work, aleast we should have 4 pistion brakes in front. Plus nice potential to be MOD.....

All I want is plenty space in engine bay for intercooler, piping, turbo. etc.

Asking too much for too little once again guys..

There are also some.. "must" that seems like its set in stone.

"Affordability" and "Fun Factor"

If you guys are looking for something that doesn't comply with those two. Then it seems like you're looking at the wrong car. Lol

Also the fact that if the Fr-S did make 300hp, it would be larger, heavier, more expensive, and in a different class which contradicts the whole purpose of this car...if that's what people are looking for I don't even know why they are even considering this car?

That was just extra talk. Remember, I still have a sunroof and still shed that much off the car.

@Jay, you take out the glass roof, and weight it. Simple :P

Offtopic: dragon, have you heard anything good about the recaro speed? I was looking into getting a pair...

350z don't have a sunroof either and it still can shed 300lbs I sure. I'm not sure on the rules for the SP3 class, but a lot of classes especially in racing, don't allow glass in the doors. Wonder if there is glass in that FT-86's door panels.

So, what have I shed.

Weight department
-Carbon hood
-Carbon Fenders
-remove factory sound dead
-remove carpet
-remove interior side panels from the doors back into the hatch
-remove rear seats + metal brackets/screws
-remove front seats + metal brackets/screws (replaced with 19lb Corbeau's)
-remove seat belts + metal brackets/screws (these can weigh 5lbs a piece by themselves. Don't sound like a lot but it adds up quick).

That's it. Still need to remove glass and replace hatch.

I know Recaro is a brand you can't go wrong with, but don't know to much about their Speed line of seats. I am choosing between OMP and Sparco for seats.

200hp sounds little because most cars on the road with 200hp weighted more than 3200lb, it can barely move arses. If the car comes at 2800lb and output 200hp, it will you and your fat chick so easily. With a few bolt-ons, it will run around fat 300hp 3400lb at your local track.
I think you know that 180hp motorcycle beats the crap out of any 500hp+ supercars, right? It's not always about power, but power to weight ratio.
