I love leather, can't stand (most) cloth seats. I personally prefer leather in the summer because cloth just gets uncomfortable to sit in in the heat almost like being in a blanket. Yes leather is HOTTTT when I first get in but after letting the car cool down and driving for 5-10 minutes its much more comfortable...especially on the really hot days where I drive shirtless.

The winter is where leather sucks for me...but I'm planning to get remote start and seat warmers so I'll live.

That said... I'd love the car to come with leather seats as an option. If not I'll just have it done myself because honestly (pending color options) I'm probably going with a white car and I'm going to want red leather seats.

Well I have to say I love this forum because I expected to be blasted for starting a thread about wanting leather seats lol I guess I could always get it done after the fact through a third party, I think I would just prefer OEM if possible. I know this car is supposed to be somewhat bare-bones but I'm sorry, this is going to be my first brand-new car and I want some luxuries lol

Feel like that too; will be my first new car and i want it to be perfect!

Leather will add to the perfection list.

As long as the leather seats aren't as supportive as the cloth. (Seen that before).

If it were my first car, I'd probably feel the same way. And more so.

I'm an OEM sort of a guy . . . but, if you have a really good a third party leather trimmer, that might work. The only thing is that "leather option" usually includes more than seats. It includes various cockpit trim, and a third party guy can't suss that out like an OEM. (I think.)

Scion usually does monospec vehicles so with the price point and barebones sports car nature that they are shooting for I highly doubt you will see an OEM leather option from Scion. You will probably have to go Suby or aftermarket.

If I get the Suby (because of looks or VIP program) I will trade you my leather seats for your cloth ones cuz I hate leather seats in sportscars.

It better be an option and not forced on you like honda does. I'm done with leather.

Toyota/Lexus have great leather seats, but for this car, I'll probably pass.

As long as they don't say "Subaru" on them, deal

When did you get that? If you go on the Scion site and select a car and click on interior, none of them had a leather option when you build the car.

Again, as long as it's an option I don't care what they offer, but cloth better be standard. I for one hate leather seats.

To disagree with an earlier point, no matter how well you maintain them they do in fact always break down. It's inevitable. And when they do you have fugly factor to add to the many con's of leather seats. One of the most anticipated changes I made to my RX7 were the seats.

You can keep the excitements that are sweaty butts, stinky oil treatments, burn your skin on hot days, freeze your skin on cold days, slide around despite being strapped in, leather seats. lol
