Leather?

I know this is dumb, but I have always loved leather in my cars. It doesn't appear that Scion offers a leather option for any of their current cars. I do not want to buy the subaru version, but I do want my leather, even if it does add some weight which I know takes away something from the car for a lot of you. As it appears this will be the most expensive car in their line-up, does anyone think it will be an option?

Your guess is as good as anyone else’s… just going to have to wait.

Worst case if you really want leather and it's not an option then just bring the car to an upholstery shop and have them make leather seat covers for you.

Would a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob help your fix?

I was never a fan of leather seats because it sucks on hot days and creases too easily even with conditioner.

As Dave mentioned, we'll have to wait to D day to see whats going to be available as options.

You could always get the Scion version, then either:
1) Go to the Subbie dealer and order a set of leather seats to swap into the Scion
or
2) Wait a bit and see if someone would be willing to trade a set of leather seats for a set of cloth seats.

#1 is the best & fastest option... but it's not really cheap.
#2 is cheaper... but prep yourself to some wore down leather

Leather, despite being more expensive at first, is cheaper to replace by panel if you need any work done later.

I went to an upholstery shop and the cloth costs are higher because they're usually all custom, patterned, and fancy. Leather is leather though.

Personally, I won't buy the car without leather in mine. Properly maintained, it won't wear down.

I was never really a fan of leather. Nice to look at but... it freaking absorbs heat like a mofo. Tears my skin apart! lol

I like leather, but I'm going for lightness this time. If I could get leather at the same total weight as vinyl or cloth, that would be different.

I respect your leather wishes, tho. It's very cool.

I like leather and of course, I want it as an option. I don't think cloth seat is a lot lighter than leather seat, maybe a few pounds each, that's it. You can shave your weight for the sake of leather seat if you really want it. LOL

Most Scion dealerships offer leather as an option, usually a third party company though, not actually a Scion product. My dealership uses Classic Soft Trim for thier leather and honestly, it looks OEM.

with the low price point i doubt it. i hate leather seats for even remotely sporty cars. it just sucks sliding around on it. plus it gets extemely hot or cold. would much rather have cloth or alcantara
