I'm paying MSRP, I didn't even bother trying to haggle with them because I knew with how few BRZ's they are making if I don't take it at MSRP someone else will, the only thing I haggled with them on was my trade in.
I can't really complain either since I didn't pre-order or anything, drove by a Subaru dealer Friday, saw a BRZ out front and decided to go in and check it out, take it for a test drive, told them exactly what I was looking for, Black BRZ premium AT with the spoiler and nothing else, they found one, it's being shipped to them today and I pick it up tonight, so 4 days from when I randomly walked in to take a look at one they got me my car, can't complain about that all with how limited the BRZ is this year

It still comes down to supply and demand and the NE has a lot more supply than other areas.

that's true, you got a point Dave.... I see pretty much all Subaru dealers in the west coast are selling this thing out. Good luck to those folks.

im a horrible negotiator! wasnt gonna bother with the price of the car since they agreed to MSRP before pricing was announced. I tried to negotiate on my trade and got another $500. Just waiting for the car to show up so I can sign my name a whole bunch of times.

x 2 because of high demand. you got nothing to lose and walk-away if dealer said no. when i read article "Top 10 worst-cars to negotiate", there were 3-4 cars of Subaru's including BRZ. BRZ was #1. and 2-3 cars of Audi |

That's what happens when you get a hot product. I actually had a couple walk out in an extremely rude fashion after I told them we were not discounting the Audi Q5. They looked at me shocked and said "but, you didn't take any money off the price", and apparently they hadn't opened up any consumer resource that would tell them just how hard it was to even have a Q5 on a dealer lot, let alone get a discount. Apparently they didn't see the value; they ended up buying a Volvo for $5k off MSRP, because obviously Volvo doesn't know how to sell cars that people want
![]() I'm really surprised the Impreza isn't on that list. We have only been discounting pre-orders. They're selling in a matter of a few days. We've sold out of our allocation of BRZ's already

They make more money from people who finance with them, cash is not a motivator. If you place a factory order you may be able to get below MSRP, depending on the dealer. Some won't waste their allotment and you may find yourself waiting for supply to stabilize if you aren't willing to pay MSRP.

I am surprised you haven't looked at the vendor posting in the dealer cars ads.
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16084 They seem to be discounting from MSRP depending on how far you want to go and colors. I am currently working a deal on a WRB BRZ 6MT and picking it up this Thursday.

Paying cash is not enticing to a dealer anymore; quite the opposite really. From what I've been told, it actually costs a paperwork fee to do a cash transaction vs. getting a kickback from the bank with financing.
