I don't see the need for an oil baffle, from what I've read it's not an issue that you need to be concerned with unless you're a serious track rat that can actually drive and has grip. The sealant smooshing out is in your control, applying a bead too thick is what causes that, it's not about a cure time. Others may be better able to comment on the baffle though.

Basically if there is at least some benefit and no downsides (aside from cost) to the baffle, I'd rather just go ahead and install one while I have the pan off, even if it's unlikely I'll need it.

Very long thread to get through!

Curious about how everyone's been dealing with heat issues in everyday traffic as this is a front mounted kit - melting fans, melting lines, etc.

I have gone through the other heat management thread (quite long) and it seems even with ceramic coatings, wraps and blankets, heat is a major issue (especially in stop and go traffic).

Honeslty I haven’t had ANY issues with heat. I’m not even running slim fans or a shroud. My cooling mods are 16 row Setrab oil cooler mounted behind fog light insert, koyo upgraded RAD, no front grill thing, and no windshield wiper insert ( behind the hood going up to the windshied) so basically there’s a lot of heat extraction going on.

Hello errybody!

As a web developer.. i'm disappointed when i go to JDL's website and see they are still selling their kit via a black friday sale..

I was trying to see what version of their kit they are on.. V2 ? V3 ? What is the most current kit version now? What is the difference between v2/v3 if there is a v3?

I can't trust their website to have updated info!

I ordered through 86speed. They often phone home to JDL to get the most current offerings. Their website is a bit more updated too. Staff there was very helpful. I would give them a call and see what's up.

If it's a street car you shouldn't have much issue. Add an oil cooler and you're set. I have yet to see a problem on street with high 80s/low 90s degree weather. I'm running slim fan shroud, a turbo blanket, and oil cooler, and ceramic coating.

Got a question for anyone that has the GTX2860R - I get compressor surge and that fluttery sound under basically any circumstance other than hard pull and shifting, it seems like it takes a good second for the line to go from +7lbs (or less) to the -9 needed to pull the blowoff valve open. Is this normal or do I need to drive more gently / change something vacuum-related?

The differences I'm aware of is that version 3 has a larger intercooler (for 500+ WHP) and the option for the G25-550/ G25-660. Double check with the vendors though.

Sounds like you need to adjust your BOV. Should be just tight enough to stay closed at idle. Anything more and it's set too stiff.

Heck, I have that thing unscrewed as far as the indicator they say not to go past. Might try to give it a couple more turns though, thanks.

Yeah I cant wait for that boost! I've been planning this for like a year and finally was able to pull the trigger... I'm having a local performance shop help me install everything starting next week!. Delicious E-tune.
