New Rally Season

Preparing for new rally season! This season will see two setups, racing in two different classes. New engine builds for both:

N/A S2000 class (2000cc max): new build with ported heads, cams, and tune.

F/I - Supercharged! Yes, Lucho is putting together a supercharged FA20 for rally! Full engine build with 10:1 compression. More details coming soon.

In the mean time, here are a couple of photos from a recent rally test session, testing out some new Chromoly steel front lower control arms. Big fail! Only lasted 3 minutes on rally course. Ouch!

What actually gave way with the LCA?

I will need to chat with you Bob regarding how best to set up the brakes for rallying. I want to remove all of the ABS system and run a bespoke set up. Will this effect the engine (limp mode) and will the Electric power steering be effected by not having speed sensor input.

Love this build and the results you are getting.

Bad luck with the Racer X Fabrication Suspension kit. The ball joint is too weak, I don't know if it's the design, but it lasted 3 minutes.

I'm not using their front arms and their rear aluminium arms. The rest is ok.

I am bringing back an old subject, because I am interested. How Bob knows that the throttle body doesn't do anything? Is it just an assumption or are they actual results? Did he had for example a tune before and after this part was installed?

I've installed some Toda parts already, but not yet the throttle body. The rest of their parts are amazing! What I know about their throttle body is that it doesn't have the high rpm issue on idle. This is a common problem on such changes. In fact, some manufacturers couldn't make an actual product because of this problem.

On 2016 we got a MoTec M1 ECU so we could tune in locally (here in Peru) and we confirmed that the big throttle body didn't do any difference, so it wasn't only Bob's opinion. I'm very sorry that he passed away last year, great guy.

Also on 2016 we changed the supercharger for a Full Blown Turbo Kit, also from Circuit Motorsports. They made the shortblock with forged and special parts, really an awesome job. We managed to boost it up to 330whp at 21psi, but we prefer not to go any higher because it is not intended for track day, but for rally use. On gravel I boost it down to 8psi (about 260whp) in order not to loose traction. You can find many pics and vids on my facebook and instagram, both @alayzarally

Lol. Got a reply after 4 years. Yeah I confirm that a bigger throttle body is just for better throttle response.
