Hey guys. I had the ca-fi back up camera installed right by my license plate. It's pointed right at the ground basically. Did anyone else get the camera from ca-fi? if so, where did you install it???

I need to buy a camera but don't want to deal with shipping from Ca-Fi.
Time to pull the trigger. I forgot, what all do I need to do the camera? Most guides I read write for stock head unit.
Would like some suggestions for cameras under $100

Does anyone run HERE maps with the data saved offline so you don't need a connection? I tried to search but "here" is a terrible name that just results in every second post in the thread.

Just finished my full install on a BRZ Limited! Thanks to everyone on this thread especially @SVXdc for super helpful wiring explanation in post #1645. I also successfully connected rear view camera, USB and aux ports. If anyone has any questions about any of these feel free to ask while it's fresh in my mind.

Question: I'm not that impressed with the audio quality. I know several of you have said the sound is better than stock. Could you guys post your EQ settings? I have the OEM audio+ system, maybe I need them to retune the amp?

Yes, the OEM Audio Plus kit's DSP amp must be configured for the specific model of HU you're using it with for optimal sound quality. You'll need to send it back to them to have them reprogram it for the Dashlinq4.

The Dashlinq4 does sound better than the stock HU with the same speakers, but only a little. The jump in quality from stock speakers to the OAP kit is much larger.

yeap, i use HERE whenever i don't get good enough signal for waze. i really like it, when it comes to offline free nav software, it's the best by a long shot. i even like it more than waze, but need waze's alerts.

hey guys could someone clarify regarding the antenna adapter connection? I have the scosche LSAAB adapter with the black and white connector. I know the blue wire does not need to be connected. Does the black harness stay unplugged?

I ask because there is a white stock harness that connects to the adapter and the radio works. But then there is a small square green connector (see pic) that can connect to the black adapter and radio still works.

The black plug is for older cars that use that style of plug instead of the newer white one. Leave it unplugged. I think that green plug is for the stock GPS antenna which can't be used on this HU.

I'm also looking at getting this unit - with the current sale, I wonder if the model 5 is soon to be released. Also, why can't the stock GPS antenna work?

No one knows when the model 5 will be released unfortunately. They briefly advertised a "Cartab" model of the dashlinq 4. It had similiar specs but no physical buttons but then they pulled it from the site a month later for unknown reasons.

The stock GPS is just a different connector and module. Since this unit comes with its own GPS module theres no reason to use the stock one.

Help adding external mic

Anyone who added an external mic looking for some advice:

Following the instructions here http://ca-fi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=4693

However they say to solder red to red and black to black. My aux wire has an additional blue wire. I'm guessing this is for left/right? Do i ignore the Blue wire? Or do I solder both red and blue to the red on the headunit and black to black?

Most mics are mono, and you're using a stereo cable. You said aux? What's at the other end of it?
