It's not just for grip. Having more volume inside the tire and tighter side wall make for a much more stable tire. I can tell you that the frs can definitely make use of more rim. Whether you want that improvement is something I can't argue with

I think the brembo BBKs weigh less than the OEM brakes.

umm.. not in this case. The rotor and wheel are tied together and are both rotational. The stock BRZ rotors are 17.1 lbs each. I think the Brembo is like 26 lbs. So you're gaining 9 lbs of rotational mass. Plus.. I believe the Brembo calipers are couple lbs heavier than the stock calipers so you're gaining some extra static mass as well. |

Ah.. that might be the source of confusion.. I assumed he was thinking about the STI Brembo conversion.
If it's the GT BBK, then I think the 2 piece rotors are pretty close in weight to the stockers.. and that would be a good option. |
