When you go for a turbo/supercharger what are the things you keep in mind?

Stock FRS, stock exhaust, stock everything! I want to go turbo with my car, can I just buy a turbo kit. Get it installed and tune the car's software or do I have to do more?

Should I change the axle, driveshaft and the differential?
Should I change anything in the exhaust?

Which turbo should I get? They are all good. How do you guys go by it?
Well for the question between supercharger and turbo, it comes down to a few things. Well from our experience with customers there is definitely a trend for certain aspects. Here are some questions to ask yourself.

Questions to help determine what you might want.
1. Do you daily drive the car and use to big V8 torque and response?
- Supercharger
2. Do you plan on going to the drag or track with your setup?
- Turbo
3. Are you worried about smog and being CARB legal?
- Supercharger
4. Do you want to continue building the power up in large steps, with basic mod upgrades?
- Turbo
5. Do you want to be able to resell your vehicle easily?
- Supercharger
6. You do not mind being loud, therefore having less back pressure to make power?
- Turbo
7. You have an automatic transmission?
- Supercharger

Well just my $0.02.

I daily drive the car, I have manual transmission and I don't mind being loud. I actually enjoy driving loud! What do you mean by CARB and smog? Pollution, I don't care xD! However, catalyst converter help this unless when you install turbo it is taken off?

Is catalytic converter removed when installed turbo?

If you are running the basic kits with minimal boost to about 7 PSI you can run a catalytic converter. But once you start going much above that to get the air to flow well out the exhaust with a turbo you will want to open that up. Either a high flow catalytic converter or if you go more power than nothing at all. Basically a full three inch exhaust to keep the back pressure low on a turbo setup.

Though having no catalytic converter can get stinking when sitting in traffic or at a light. Just an FYI.

Hi
MPGs are driver habits! My aren't so good, but this a drift/sport car.
19MPGs NA and 14MPGs FI.
A friend have one NA with intake and tune MPGs 29. He ones agree to be my passenger, but didn't like it.
If you go for 600hp, forget MPGs, and get some cash for good fuel, built engine and don't forget the tranny, axels...

Enjoy the ride!

CVT's tend to have issues with heat when adding power, same goes for our cars in the AT form. A turbo is overall a much more heat-intense process to making power (turbine vs. pulley). A simple fix would be to opt for an upgraded auto transmission cooler.

I personally think boost is great for our AT cars, especially since we can utilize our tall gearing in 5th and 6th
