LOL ok, prepare to be... unimpressed. ![]() [ame]http://youtu.be/pGNeJBFHJ4Q[/ame] This was my best "official scoring" lap in the 3 sessions that counted for 86CUP. Lap of 2:22.4. In the final (unofficial) session I managed a 2:18.7. No video from Harry's on this one, so I will have to pull it from the GoPro video later. but, here's some colorful graphs to look at comparing the 2:22 to the 2:18 laps.

OK here is my 2:18 lap. I definitely feel like the tires had even more grip but I didn't feel comfortable going too much harder at the end of the day. It was a lot of fun trying to chase and keep up with the Subie though.
[ame]http://youtu.be/rpapvkkxnRE[/ame] if anyone has any critique I would love to hear comments, tips, suggestions.

Nice driving Plato.
I dont know if it's correct or not but the way I assess my driving line is how hard I'm attacking the kerbs and in turn getting closer to the apex. It might be the camera angle, but I saw you leave some space between you and the kerb a few times.

No problem. I'm sure you were running around talking to people and driving in between. I didn't know your car was supercharged. Def want to check it out next time. Question - Do you have the times posted some where?

![]() had a few other questions which maybe I should have asked anyone else who was around and available that day... on the front straight, I was hitting top of 4th gear near the end of it and found upshifting to 5th let me carry a little more top speed, but then found myself only being there for a few seconds and then having to lose time on shifting. So I found myself at times staying in 4th and just holding at redline until braking point for turn 1. thoughts on which is better? and in turn 5 (bypass), not sure where I should brake and where to get back on the throttle. I was told it was very similar approach to turn 3. But I tended to take it fairly conservatively.

People can also gain a lot of time in turn 1 and 2 as they get more confident. You will be surprised how fast you can take turn 1 and how fast you can dive bomb turn 2 on entry (i.e. brake late and trail brake it). I remember my instructor kept pushing me in this turn in particular because I really didn't think you could enter turn 2 so fast. |
