i never really understand why people say you cant compare apples to oranges. you compare things because they are different. not because they are the same. |

ive had this conversation before and i know it goes in circles but ill bow out with this thought: tires cost money and vary not only from model to model but size to size so its still not an "even" comparison. what doesnt change is how much a dollar is when being spent on a car. dollars is what i use to compare things because its what society uses. at the prices they cost, i think its a valid comparison. if you think that you should spend 600 more on the frs to make it fair i think youve done exactly the opposite. either way its not about fair, its about comparing and thats how they compare them. |

Yeah, I agree with fatoni on this. The comparison was to show the consumers how these two cars do in stock form.
BRZ losing out to Si in that video on the track shouldn't really make anyone mad or frustrated. |

I have both cars. I LOVE my civic. If it came down to selling one, the FRS would go. Civic is tried and true (I know I will get 200k+ miles out of her), more space (I can fit people in the back
) and more usable (HUGE TRUNK!!! 36 mpg consistently…I get about 27 in the FRS)

Reliability? Cargo volume? Gas mileage?
Thought I registered for a RWD sports car forum. |

Don't care that much either way, but you really should add HPF to that statement to make it accurate.

I love all the civic bashing. It's a wonder what a handful of teenagers with fart can exhausts can do to a car's perception.
The fact is that the 9th gen si has a much better engine - more usable torque and MUCH more NA room to grow - full bolt ons will net you 250whp easily, and an aggressive NA build will push 300whp. Oh, and thats WITHOUT direct injection. The SI can corner so much harder than the stock brz. I have yet to put stickier rubber on my BRZ as it's on snow tires right now, but the LSD on the SI lets you push corners hard, and the under-steer is no worse than the FRS' oversteer. Take a BRZ and an SI civic and put an equal amount of money into each and the SI will crush the BRZ all day long. That being said, I traded in my 2013 si coupe with 10k miles on it for a car that I could put sideways. |

This is what happens when you actually match up a stock (non-HFP) Civic SI vs. stock BRZ at the track:

Did all of you even watch the video? They liked the BRZ better, in stock form the SI was 0.10 second faster, and they said "if the BRZ had the same tires as the SI it would have been 2 seconds faster."
The SI's 2.4l makes same practically same power as BRZ's 2.0l, it's front wheel drive, suffers from under-steer, is 100lbs heavier, and has massive amounts of body roll. The BRZ has a better suspension, better steering response, HID headlights, Alcantra leather, push button start, keyless entry, heated seats/mirrors, Anti theft security system, and IMHO looks better and is more "exclusive." Sorry Honda fanboys...discussion over. BRZ > Civic SI HFP |
