I am not sure what commanded equivalence ration is but here is some more info for you and anyone else who might be interested or want to help in finding some of the things that people want
A long time ago, in a far away place, some people with some knowledge and power decided to make the CAN networks a standard in vehicles. OBD2. There are a list of standard parameters that all vehicle manufactures must have and the the locations (PID's) must be the same as well. Wiki goes into this a little here. Apps like Torque Pro come pre loaded with these PIDs. Any non standard PID that we can find can be added (oil temp). Then you ask.. well torque has a knock monitoring add on so knock must be available too right?? well NO.. Knock is not a "standard" PID so they would have to find and make a custom pid for every vehicle with knock correction. what that add on has done is monitor ignition timing (a standard PID). It then looks for spikes in timing which it "sees" as knock correction. if the same knock correction occurs at the same rpm with a similar drop it will "forget" that knock assume it is just normal, and not display it again. That's why you must run that add on multiple times before it becomes accurate. If you can even call it that. CANBUS communication is so fast and durable that the car manufactures use it far past what is required in the standard. To go with this though, they have started using their own protocols. Toyota uses something called SSM (i think). from what I understand its just like a different language. If there is only two people speaking Spanish in a room full of Germans you can keep the conversations separated. Regardless the information is there you just need to know how to get it. There is MUCH MUCH MUCH more information getting transmitted though these other protocols than is being transmitted through the "standardized protocol". To sum up. I am still learning.. My arduino should be here in about a week. Then I have to learn how to use the thing. And then start sniffing around to find what I am looking for. Its a hobby to me, I would like to believe I am a cool geek, but its going to take some time. I am sure the guys at rom raider will probably crack everything before I find the little things I want but it gives me something to do in the mean time.

^@calispec, I have interest in the mounts. What will the final production be made from? How do they mount?
Thanks! |

@Drobinson1692
They are rapid prototyped. The finish is actually very nice. I was going to sand and paint them but decided against it after I installed them. They ship with 3M double sided tape pre mounted. The mounts were designed to stay but if you ever wanted to change tablets or sell the car they can be removed with a little effort and the trim pieces will not be effected. If you haven't used the 3M tape before this stuff is crazy strong. The mounts aren't going anywhere. I am at 230whp and the tablet hasn't moved!

doesn't look like the commanded equivalence ratio is the same as the advanced multiplier. i think the advanced multiplier is a specific table for subaru based on the cobb site. http://www.cobbtuning.com/v/vspfiles...ile_Subaru.pdf
i do want to add that if you set your fuel type for e85, the proper afr reading for e85 is 9.7 not 14.7 as it would for reg gas per this site http://www.e85mustangs.com/tuning.html Last edited by garfull; 11-27-2013 at 02:03 PM. |

I tried both the custom PID and the Engine Oil Temperature. Both are showing the same numbers. I'm just gonna assume Torque devs added/updated in their latest build
![]() But I do have a question: is there a PID for oil pressure?? ![]() Last edited by acx23; 11-28-2013 at 10:53 AM. |

There isn't an oil pressure sensor in the car. Just an "on - off" type that goes off at a threshold pressure.

So after searching & reading I still can't figure out if I can use this program on my cheap tablet that only has WiFi and doesn't have Bluetooth? Will it work with a WiFi scan tool?

As far so I know, OBD2 bluetooth will work with Android devices and OBD2 Wifi will work with iOS devices. With that being said, Torque is only available for Androids but there are other OBD apps for iOS, such as DashCommand (which is only available for both platforms).

Old thread but it can be done : http://www.plxdevices.com/forum/view...hp?f=10&t=4917
But you will have to root your Android because ad-hoc wifi connection isn't allowed. |

Thanks for this thread. Had a CEL, was about to take her to the dealer (huge inconvenience). Hooked up torque pro with a ebay EML and it was the famous evap fault code. This idiot didn't tighten the gas tank cap!
Great thread, I'm sure has saved a lot of people precious time.
