In refrence to the animation. The comment about the sportmax wheels and cut springs. I said Rota cause they're just as bad, if not, worse.

Or is this just another closed minded "I don't care!" situation?

I suppose. I've owned multiple sets of Rotas, Volks, some other forged JDM brands. I have no problem with Rota.

different strokes for different folks i guess
I mean I feel the same about the whole Vanning scene. To me its just ridiculous and absurd yet its pretty popular and people spend a bunch on it

I guess even a terribly wrong things can be done "right" (i.e. to succeed in breaking a perfectly working car).
But to make a terribly wrong thing right, I'd guess you'll have to do like those folks: [u2b]6-shNHaJigM[/u2b] |

I guess:
1. It looks too much like the Mini-truck, low riders, I grew up with in SoCal which I never cared for. 2. I'm already 30, starting a family, and I don't want to look like a "cool" 18 year old. I want to look like an adult. 3. It looks to be impractical as hell. 4. The question of, can it be done right is mute. I'm sure 70% of people lowering their cars either cut the springs anyway or put them over blown shocks, so I'm sure people who go the "extra mile" and are into the "hellaflush" scene are ricers by default. I'm sure they don't bother to set a correct camber and toe and just cruise around wondering why their tires are always bald. The ones that "do it right" are probably .0001% and I could care less what that percentage does. All I want is a clean drop to get rid of most of the wheel well, doesn't scrape, and retains most of a car's handling characteristics. Anything more than that is just an attempt to fit in to a sub-subculture, to make as a hobby, and to try to stand out. Those sorts of behaviors are again, relegated to people under the age of 25. And that's fine, but it certainly isn't for me. |

I'm not sure what I'd call those, but they are fugly for sure IMO. If I ever do that to my car I give everyone here permission to shoot me in the head.
